is a new film that takes the viewer on a deeply personal journey into
the everyday lives of families struggling to fight goliath.
Help make the film, host a screening, or share your story!
Welcome Chelsea and Natalia!
We are pysched to have two amazingly talented and
hard-working interns this summer. Chelsea Basset (DIA's 2nd
Wisconsinite) is working with many of you to get up and running and to
ensure that your campaigns are successfully implemented. She's also
studying nonprofit development and we hope she's learning a ton from
our quickly growing organization. Natalia Fisher is our web goddess --
creating new a soon to be launched website and enhancing our "Campaign
Headquarters".
Feel free to stop by and visit. If you do, be sure
to bring some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. We like
to keep our interns happy.
New Tool in the Box: Listserves
Campaign managers can now manage e-mail discussion lists from the
DemocracyInAction headquarters! One of the most popular online
activities since the salad days of the Internet, listservs are a great
way to get your constituents talking with one another. Now, they can
be run out of the same database that houses the rest of your supporter
information.
Turn any Group into a listserv (with a multitude of configuration
options) in the Manage Groups section of your headquarters.
We're celebrating by launching a couple listservs of our own that you
might want to sign onto:

Nonprofit E-Advocacy Feeling the Pinch: Groundspring Drops
AdvocacyNow; Meetup Institutes Fees
Two popular services for nonprofit Internet organizing have sprung
nasty spring surprises on their clientele.
Last month, Groundspring.org discontinued (for the time being)
AdvocacyNow, its online campaign service. A few weeks earlier,
Meetup.com ended free meetup planning.
Both features remain core functions in DemocracyInAction's
cost-effective e-advocacy platform. Know someone who might benefit
from DemocracyInAction's services? Tell them about us!
In Memoriam: Marla Ruzicka

Marla Ruzicka, founder of human rights group Campaign For Innocent Victims in Conflict, was killed on April 16 by
a car bomb in Baghdad. Marla was a close friend of DemocracyInAction
both personally and professionally. Her loss is incalculable.
Please donate to CIVIC in Marla's memory.
