Open Letter to the Wife of the 'President' of the United States11:30 PM Feb 26, 2007Open
Letter to the Wife of
The
“President” of the In Search of Peace
Dear
Laura,
It has been quite awhile
since I have written to you “mother to mother.” A lot of water has gone under
that proverbial bridge, huh? Remember, I wrote to you in August of 2005, urging
you then to assert any influence that you may have over your husband to help us
bring
Laura, I saw a clip of your
interview
with Wolf Blitzer, when you said that, “of course the war is wearing” on you.
Laura, Laura. Laura, how do you think I and hundreds of thousands of women all
around the world feel?
After spending most of my days working to end the war so no other mother around the world has to experience what I have had to, I lie awake most of the nights in physical and emotional pain, missing my son, Casey so desperately. While the war is “wearing” on you, at least you have both of your children still alive and you are able to hold them when they are home, or call them when they are away. I would gladly give everything I have owned or will ever own just to catch a glimpse of my son one more time to erase the memory of seeing him lying in his coffin that was provided to him criminally and unjustly by your husband. Laura, I am writing this to
you from
I resent the fact that your
husband has made the
Dear Laura, a better
Dear Laura there are
millions of mothers in Iraq and Afghanistan who feel the undeserved wrath of
your husband everyday and there are millions more in Iran who are terrified for
their children and communities because your husband and his pals seem to be
deceiving our planet into another unnecessary invasion. There are thousands of
mothers in
Laura, even though your
unwavering public support of your husband appalls me, I am reaching out to you
because you are the only one associated with your husband that has even a bare
trace of humanity in her eyes. I suspect that you have been hurt by your husband
along with millions of people world wide. I suspect you know that for the
healing and future health of the world that George needs to step down…and
quickly.
Laura, the ultimate insult
and slam to our collective guts came when we found out recently that your
husband's criminal regime is funding the very al-Qaeda
groups that attacked us on 9-11 and are killing our children in Iraq. Your
husband is directly responsible for these crimes but who can stop
him? Laura, I will be back in
Crawford at Camp
Casey at Easter with hundreds of other people who demand that your husband
bring the troops home from Iraq immediately and, since Congress seem to be
inhabiting the same deep and wide pockets that your husband does, will be
calling for his resignation. Please, stop by, we are right down the
road.
We mothers of sons and
daughters ask you to look into your mother’s heart and urge George to step down
for peace and for the mothers of the world.
Sincerely
Cindy

Yes, you are right, Cindy, Laura Bush is the only person on earth who might have any influence with her husband. I, too, am mystified and angered that she has not chosen to exercise that influence. We need more public pressure on Laura to get George to go sit down and shut up.

"One attack on our troops per day", Laura
Bob G — 04:23 PM Mar 04, 2007
I think Laura believes that there is "one" discouraging attack on our troops per day, when the fact is that the number in January 2007 was not 1 but rather 180 attacks per day. CNN showed one soldier being tested for brain damage from his FIFTH roadside bomb attack. We need to get the facts to the first lady and do it soon. Perhaps she can influence her insanely stupid husband's cabal of military kooks.US casualties
Bill Herried — 04:48 PM Mar 04, 2007
I too, was terrified late one evening by the Army Casualty Assistance Officers. They have me the news that my only son had perished in a roadside bomb attack. This administration is on the brink of criminal the way they have mishandled this fiasco. I say get our boys out now!Open your heart, Laura!
Peggy Kirk — 04:52 PM Mar 04, 2007
I am very sad that so many of our young strong and idealistic young people have had to go to war and die or be severly injured for life because of this administrations desire for power over the world. Why do leaders of this nation think that it is our God given right to rule the world and be the richest and most powerful? If we want the respect of the world, we need to set the example by bring good not bad into the world. (not by force) I was taught that such behavior was wrong in my upbring. I wouldnt tolerate it in my children. I think that most people believe that. I also think that it does no good to try to change Laura's heart. She and her husband don't get it."What would Jesus Christ Do" ?
David B. — 04:59 PM Mar 04, 2007
To whom it may concern......what would our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ do to stop ALL the wars on this planet and seek permanent peaceful solutions for all our problems on earth? Is that not why we call Him (The Prince Of Peace.....Wonderful Councillor ?) There is an organization called The Peace Alliance .......I suggest you search it out on the internet.laura bush

She used to be a war protester and now look at her...What a shame and horrible excuse for a human being...I wonder how she really feels inside?...It can't be good...I hope she sees Cindy's letter and it touches her heart...But I doubt it because to live in the midst of all that evil, greed & corruption it must have taken toll on her...The trace of humanity Cindy sees in her eyes must be something else...I wonder if she believes the lies she spews in defense of the war criminal and his cronies?...Could she believe those lies and be sincerely stupid because she herself doesn't feel evil to me at all...Could she be under some kind of mind control, maybe?...I also wonder all the time how the bush's two daughters can look their friends in the eyes?...I would be sooooo ashamed...I bet they have to have body guards that cost the people a small fortune...I just bet!Laura Bush

THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A PICTURE OF THE VERY MOST DANGEROUS DICTATOR-MR G W BUSH- SO HOW COULD ONE PICK THE OTHER MEN? OUR COUNTRY IS IN SEVERE NEED OF DEMOCRACY . HOW CAN WE EXPORT IT TO IRAQ WHEN WE DON'T HAVE IT HERE ? CONGRESS CAN'T DO ONE THING TO CONTROL THIS WAR, OTHER THAN TALK ABOUT IT. WELL THE TIME FOR TALK IS FAR PAST--IT IS TIME FOR ACTION ..BRING OUR TROOPS HOME-LET THE IRAQI HAVE THEIR CIVIL WAR--WE CAN HAVE THE TROOPS HELP HERE TO SPREAD DEMOCRACY . The death and destrustion of America is rapidlyapproaching. The tanking of the dollar will put
your family in the welfare line with the rest of
the country. Our military is stretched around the
world and we are being destroyed within by the
mafia freemason crimminal government. Please help before its to late. For your country and the future of your daughters leave Washington on
extended vacation to house search.
I have a story that could (possibly) do a lot to end this war and the future wars "they" already have planned.
Arnold Joseph White — 08:39 PM Mar 04, 2007
Dear Neighbour,The following is something I wrote to introduce myself, mainly on blogs. Thank you for reading it. I think you will find it more than interesting.
March 1st, 2007
Hello,
My name is Arnold Joseph White. I was born in Nashville, TN on July 7th, 1948. And as with most people, from time to time in my life, I have had experiences that could have possibility been the ~“Spiritual Realm”~ of ~“God”~ at work in my life ~ or not. I never had an experience that did not have a rational explanation behind it ~ until ~ 1996 or 1997 ~ when I began to experience “things” that at that time I concluded were “things” I thought were from the ~ “psychic realm” ~ of ~ “psychic phenomena” ~ as ~ “psychic ability” ~ and ~ “psychic power” ~. Then on Dec. 15th, of 2000, I witnessed ~“something”~ that as I tried to come to a rational explanation of what I was witnessing, the first thing that came to my mind was “witchcraft”. From that point forward ~these things ~ continued to escalate until early in 2002 when it “finally” dawned on me that what I was being ~“approached”~ by ~ was ~“God”~. “WHY?” ~ was not the first question that came to my mind. “WHAT?” ~ was the first question. What do I do with this ~“Revelation”~ of this ~“Epiphany”~? Were ~ these things ~ given to me to experience for my own personal knowledge and mine alone? Or was I supposed to share that ~ “My God! There actually is a God!” ~ with the world? It did not take me long to realize that I was being ~“called”~ to tell my story and share my beliefs as to why ~these things ~ were, and still are, happening. So over the course of the next five years, I wrote a book that you can read and download (free) at www.Love-God-Is-Love.org.
In the overwhelming struggle I put myself through in trying "my best?" to write as believable a story as possible; in prayerful thought one night I came up with the following thought while thanking ~"God"~ for choosing me to do this. And ~ that thought ~ was ~ "I hope that I hope." ~. To which ~“God”~ replied to me through Job 6:11 on page 715 of my ~“SPIRIT FILLED LIFE BIBLE”~. ~“What strength do I have, that I should *hope?”~.
Many of you, if not most of you, will have a very real problem with much of what ~"God"~ has ~"called"~ me to ~"speak"~. But that is not my problem. My problem has been finding a believable way to tell my story as best I could. And just this last summer on my birthday, July 7th, 2006 ~"God"~ gave me very, very, very strong evidence that ~"He"~ has ~"called"~ me to do what I am doing. You can see this very, very, very strong evidence on pages 31, 32 and 40-42 of my book, on my website. Just recently I saw the following message on two or three different Church signs near my home:
“God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called.”
It is my ~“EPIPHANY!” ~ laden opinion that what is on pages 31 and 32 of my book was given to me, and to you, to qualify me, for you. I just took over a Meetup.com (The Hermitage End of Times Meetup Group) here in Nashville to discuss the very real probability that this JUNCTURE, we are so very obviously into, could be "the last days" and I would like to invite you to join me. And again ~ you can read and download my entire book (free) at: www.Love-God-Is-Love.org.
My book is entitled "DIVINE 9/11 INTERVENTION" and its sub-title is ~"EPIPHANY!"~ @ JUNCTURE / NOSTRA 1999 DAMUS 9111 / ~"LOVE!"~ ~"GOD IS!"~ ~"LOVE!"~. My book is what it is. And I am what I am. And I will let you decide what is what.
Call me. ~"God"~ has.
~ “Love is the answer.” ~ ~“God is love.”~
~ “a white” ~ Arnold Joseph White
The following are in the King James Bible ~“7”~ times each.
~“love thy neighbour as thyself.”~ ~“the last days”~ ~“forgiveness”~ and ~“a white”~.
~“a prophet”~ is there ~“48”~ times.
~“7/7/48”~
Ezekiel 33:7 & 33
7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
The ? question ? marks in my story are supposed to be quotes.
Arnold Joseph White — 08:46 PM Mar 04, 2007
All of the questions marks around the words are supposed to be quotations marks. Maybe it came out like this because I didn't type my story directly in this box. I copied it from a Word document. I am going to try and use the quote symbol now around the word quote. Here goes "quote"www.Love-God-Is-Love.org ( "book?")

I believe that Laura Bush is abused by her husband and by his cronies. She seems like a passive woman that allows control by wretched people who threaten her (and worse) if she speaks her mind. In this day and age it is really hard to sympathize with an abused wife. Passivity by Congress and citizens has lead to the grim situation we are in. It's taken five bloody years to hear a majority of the people really protest the mindles killing, torture, loss of Democracy, corruption, greed, heartless treatment of veterans, and loss of civil rights. We have killed over 600,000 Iraqis including mothers and children, husbands and relatives. Millions have fled in order to survive. All of us who do not speak out are guilty of the same delusional passivity that frames Laura Bush.A Disgrace
Sam Scott — 09:44 PM Mar 04, 2007
I have to say that this is the strangest group of unpatriotic americans i have come accross yet. i'm not sure what is wrong with you people. I can't believe you've so easily forgotten about 9/11 as if it never happened. You people are always trying to find a scape goat for what ever problems you seem to be facing. I can't believe you have forgotten so easily, the attacks on kuwait(and coincidently they asked for our help). I can't believe you can sit there and act as if you have no compassion on the lives of innocent Iraqi's as an insane dictator single handedly called for the execution of millions of his own people.I can't believe you are being brain washed by rhetoric, rumor's, and liberal self centered points of view. It seems you are forgetting that the United States as the foremost super power in the world does have greater responsibilities to tend to than most countries. There have been attempts to resolve things through diplomacy, and when those attempts failed, action had to be taken. If we continue to slap terrorists and dictatorial regime's on the hand for slaughtering defenseless people then we are essentially giving them the big "A O.K." to continue the blood shed. This war had to start sooner or later. If it wasn't in Afganistan or Iraq, it would definately be somewhere else in that region. Lives are being saved just in our own homeland alone by standing up to these hate filled bullies. You guy's never see the big picture. You do not see larger amounts of americans lives in our homeland lost since 9/11 simply because our leadership made the right decision to fight back. You do not understand that terrorists will continue to spread their brand of hate to all those areas that remain passive especially if there is no resistance. wheather you fight them or you don't, they will inevitably find a reason out of all of it to continue. I personally agree with our president to take a firm stance against this kind of hatred. Let us not forget that our soldiers volunteer for service to their country. They are not forced to serve. Wheather mom or dad like it or not they should be proud of their son or daughter for standing up for their freedoms and what they believe, and having the guts to fight for it too. You cannot control your children's decisions but you should respect their decision even if you do not like the repercussions of them instead of speaking out against the leadership that they chose to follow. If that soldier did not believe in what they were fighting for, they did not have to go. I have spent 6 years in the military and am currently deployed on a mission. I believe we are fighting for a greater cause than Cindy's feelings. Stop being so closed minded to think the world only revolves around the United States, or closer than that, you. No one likes the things that war creates or the pain that comes with it, and we know the leaders of our country are not dictators, nor can they ever be, but it takes a good leader to make that difficult decision and be proactive instead of inactive when thousands of our fellow countrymen and women died needlessly and innocently burning to death and being crushed by collapsing skyscrapers. You are not helping this great nation in any way by bickering and complaining about why soldiers die for your freedoms. Jesus is the prince of peace, but do not forget that isreal had enemies too and they too had to fight for their freedoms and the freedoms of others around them. If you pray, pray God's will be done, not your will be done. You will save yourself a lot of pain , worry, anguish, and anxiety by giving it up to God and letting him deal with it. Its his fight anyway, not yours. Try reading Ephesians 6.Iraq is considered a success
Robert — 09:51 PM Mar 04, 2007
Its amazing but true! Bush and a handful of very powerful people in congress love the result in Iraq. There are a handfull of megabases in Iraq now and we are not leaving. The US now has a strategic posture for world domination which is favored by a very few powerfull democrats and republicans.
These same immoral people care not a whit about dead Iraqis or dead US Troops. In fact because the establishment of these megabases was the true mission and anything else is merely a side show! People's sons and daughters are killed because they are a diversion!
No reporter or major news network reports on these megabases and won't report on them! Most network anchors are now compromised because of their huge compensations and if they buck the company line its out the door and then who would hire them and reward them with this level of compensation? They have been bought and sold and don't even know it!
Don't believe me. Look at old Dan Rather! Set up and kicked to the curb before we could even blink! Old Dan is still around but not nearly as prominent.
This is the warning to media types. Mess with Bush and be prepared to wind up doing the news in Bigbutt North Dakota!

Dear Laura: Laura, from my view, I think you need some help. First of all, I read in Michael Moore's book that your children have a drinking problem. May I suggest you go to Alanon to get help for yourself. Next, your husband has heart problems. That's right. He lacks one. Please speak to George about this. Finally, please exercise your own heart muscles more. Compassion for the children who have been hurt and killed, compassion for the families, compassion for the ones now being hurt and killed is very good exercise for your own heart. If George lacks a heart to stop this war, then it's up to you, Laura. You'll find out that if you speak out against your husband who wants to keep this war going, you'll make a whole bunch of new and wonderful friends all over the world. And childrens' lives will be spared. Families will be spared. Mothers who would never be happy will be happy. Now as a mother, I know you understand the need for you to take charge in ending this war. If you need help in standing up and speaking your heart, please keep on reading Cindy's messages and books. She is an outstanding example of a woman who stands up for what is right, even without the bodyguards and protection you have wherever you go. That takes genuine courage. Good Luck, Laura. Respectfully, SharonEphesians 6:12

We have a deranged bunch of thugs in Washington and reaching them is nearly impossible. The wars would never have gotten off the ground if they hadn't planned and executed 9/11 to get America to fall for it and support this insane president and his men.So - we're all tied together. If we can prove (and there's plenty of evidence) that bush was involved in 9/11, we can impeach him and hopefully prosecute him for his heartless and arrogant behavior.
We're with you on anti-war and the democratic leaders (DLC) love bush and these wars. We really need to remove him and cheney from office and most of congress too, as they thumb their noses at us.
Thanks again for your fine and patriotic efforts. We'll keep on keeping on.

I'd like to think Laura was just afraid - but I think she has bought into this world domination thing too. I don't think she has a shred of morality anymore - did she ever?
She looks nice and smiles nice but how could you be so dense as to not know what is going on.
This sam scott hopefully will see that when we kill off more and more of our troops, fighting an illegal, immoral war based on lies - we're not helping him or the troops - I doubt he is in the service at all - maybe the swift boat vets. I was in the service and I would not have gone to this war.

You all have blood on your hands supporting this war.Why should Laura Bush have a great life when her husband has destroyed so many?
Why should these people who have lied to us and spit on our soldiers and constitution have a free pass to enjoy the rest of their lives.
Why don't you try to educate yourselves and scrub the blood off of your hands.
You disgrace my son's memory everyday by supporting the liar who killed him.
Why don't you move out of America so our IQ average will go up.
You hate America because you support a liar who called OUR constitution a "goddamned old scrap of paper."

It just goes to show how low the CIA will stoop in not only infiltrating a decent site like this with their evil disinformation duo, Scott and Faulkner, but that they will encourage them to turn the knife in Cindy's wounded heart. Since they work for Bush the Butcher, I suppose that we must expect the same evil and Satanic behavior from them, as from their poisonous coke addicted, Skull & Bones pedophile master.Shame on you both. When the time of reckoning comes for ALL Bush toadies who, like him, have sold their souls to the Devil, to pay for their heinous crimes, I shall remember your names - always assuming that they are not as false as your "doctrines" - and will do everything within my power to ensure that you too receive the punishment that you so richly deserve.

Yes, you're right Cindy, many do have blood on their hands...I read Eric Faulkner's post and he used the same propaganda & nonsense all the other brainwashed people use...I wonder if he really believes all that crap or is one assigned & paid to work to deceive the masses?
The conditioning goes deep in those that remain ignorant to our devastating true reality...
Some refuse to believe perpetual war and all behind it, is only to sustain the evil and greedy trying to remain in power...and of course for population control when we could be using education to do that, instead...
Maybe they think after all the many terrorists, the real terrorists in the bush administration create, get together>>>and everything goes nuclear, maybe these ignorant and/or evil people think the powers that be will be taking them to their underground bunkers with them?
Soon...Very soon the illusion will be removed for those who blindly follow the corrupt leader...
Who by the way, is just the puppet of the evil empire behind him, for those of you who may not know
We are the majority & the good hearts wake daily...
So, Cindy, take comfort that soon, "We The People," will take back our country from the war criminals...
Their gig is up & they lose ground daily...Their ship is going down...Many have jumped already if you've paid attention
If you're one reading this who is on the wrong side of this war, there's still time to switch & jump that ship...You don't want to be among the last and go down with it, do you?
There's still time to join the correct & moral side of humanity...
If you condone the murder of innocents & support the lies of the illegal occupation>>>
You're one of two types
Either you're on the wrong side out of ignorance and what that means is you're void true facts...
The other would be that you really know truth & still stand behind the corrupt administration, anyway...That would make you evil
Maybe you have your piece of the pie and couldn't care less about anyone else?
Woe to you who allow the suffering & dying to continue because you will meet your waterloo, very soon...
That's a promise because "We The People" will see to it
Sincerely,
"We The People"

Controlled demolition is so politically unthinkable that the media not only demeans the messenger but also ridicules and “debunks” the message rather than provide investigative reporting. Curiously, it took 441 days for the president’s 9/11 Commission to start an “investigation” into a tragedy where more than 2,500 WTC lives were taken. The Commission’s investigation also didn’t include the possibility of controlled-demolition, nor did it include an investigation into the “unusual and unprecedented” manner in which WTC Building #7 collapsed.
The media has basically kept the collapse of WTC Building #7 hidden from public view. However, instead of the Twin Towers, let’s consider this building now. Building #7 was a 47-story structural steel World Trade Center Building that also collapsed onto itself at free-fall speed on 9/11. This structural steel building was not hit by a jetliner, and collapsed seven hours after the Twin Towers collapsed and five hours after the firemen had been ordered to vacate the building and a collapse safety zone had been cordoned off. Both of the landmark buildings on either side received relatively little structural damage and both continue in use today.
Contrary to the sudden collapse of the Twin Towers and Building #7, the four other smaller World Trade Center buildings #3, #4, #5, and #6, which were severely damaged and engulfed in flames on 9/11, still remained standing. There were no reports of multiple explosions. The buildings had no pools of molten metal (a byproduct of explosives) at the base of their elevator shafts. They created no huge caustic concrete/cement and asbestos dust clouds (only explosives will pulverize concrete into a fine dust cloud), and they propelled no heavy steel beams horizontally for three hundred feet or more.
The collapse of WTC building #7, which housed the offices of the CIA, the Secret Service, and the Department of Defense, among others, was omitted from the government’s 9/11 Commission Report, and its collapse has yet to be investigated.
Perhaps it is time for these and other unanswered questions surrounding 9/11 to be thoroughly investigated. Let’s start by contacting our congressional delegation.
William Rice, P.E., is a registered professional civil engineer who worked on structural steel (and concrete) buildings in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. He was also a professor at Vermont Technical College where he taught engineering materials, structures lab, and other building related courses.
A Military Spouse Speaking Her Mind...
Aimee Brewer — 11:22 PM Mar 05, 2007
What is wrong with you people? How can you call yourself a Patriotic American? You talk of Bush as the world's worst criminal, democracy, 9/11 being an inside job, and right wingers speaking the same old propaganda. I understand that Ms. Sheehan loved her son and hates the fact that he lost his life--but with all do respect, he joined up voluntarily. We DO still have a volunteer military. Do all of you understand why the only reason you liberals can talk such garbage is because men and women like Ms. Sheehan's son, my husband and family and others have fought so hard for. If in our nation's history, we always turned our backs on the enemy like all of you would like us to do, there would not be an America---Land of the Free like there is today. We have a FREE country because men and women have given blood, sweat and tears for our nation. They did this for even those of you who could care less about the REAL cause but rather about what your own selfishness wants. Don't you realize that lives lost to war are not in vain? Every time a president has tried to talk instead of act upon a threat, it has ended up worse. Sometimes in order to gain peace, we must have war. I, as a military spouse have a duty to uphold my husband and support him in all that he does for this country...I will not fail him! When he joined as an infantryman, he knew what the danger might be---it's part of being a soldier and serving. During his tour in Iraq, he had the responsibility not only for himself, but for others under him. You can't tell him that the little Iraqi girl who ran up to him and gave him a bracelet and in broken English said "THANK YOU!" was a war that is in vain. He lost a friend and hates that his friend had to give the ultimate sacrifice; however, he understands his friend fought for something far greater than himself. A couple of my husbands friends were wounded and worked hard in recovery and physical therapy to be able to greet their comrades as they stepped off the plane for homecoming. You say bring them home now...Do you not realize how hard it is for soldiers to come home knowing that those who have fallen will never walk off the plane to see "Old Glory" waving and crowds screaming "Thank You", "I Love You", "Welcome Home!" Because of this knowledge and because of their love for this country and each other, they fight for the fallen, the wounded and for one another. They even fight for YOU, so you can spew your liberalist garbage! There are only two people who has ever given their lives for you...Jesus Christ, he died for your soul and the American Soldier, he died for your freedom...Remember this the next time you open your mouth! You say Pity SAM SCOTT---I say I LOVE YOU BROTHER AND THANK YOU FOR SERVING BRAVELY! I support all of our troops and their mission. GOD BLESS all of those who have served and are still serving!

They did not volunteer for this. They did not volunteer to be killed for lies and deception. They did not volunteer to kill innocent people for oil. They did not volunteer to invade and occupy a country that was no threat to America.
I don't know what else to say to right wingers
23 percent of you still support George Bush on this war and it is out of ignorance, so nothing I can say will change your mind.
So what do you think about the appalling treatment that our wounded vets get at Walter Reed?
Peace soon...despite the reich wingers

Not fighting material
chrissy — 10:06 AM Mar 06, 2007
Once I asked my sister if she thought it unfair that she has to fight in the war but Bush's childern do not. The concensus with her military friends is that they would not want his children fighting next to them. In fact, if Bush's children had to fight along side real soldiers, they would just shoot the kids in the foot. Not very trusting huh. With all do respect Cindy
Aimee — 12:04 PM Mar 06, 2007
It IS still a volunteer military...for those that joined after the war started knew that they would be sent to war. I have worked with Infantry Basic trainees and have asked them about what they think about having to go to war and all have said that they are ready for it and know it will be hard to leave family, but know that they will do some good. How can you say we are deceived, when evidently they feel some sort of American pride that they have chosen to leave jobs, family, etc. to go join up and fight for a war that you say they don't agree with. Those that do not want to fight but still want to serve choose to do other jobs in the military...I am sure you know that. I don't understand how you can have been so misled."The Truth To This Whole Matter"
Marsha McClelland — 02:19 PM Mar 06, 2007
We don't need to dwell on labels such reicht or left wingers when it's really all about right or wrongWhen history books begin to read true, only then will we have the right to be proud to be Americans...Only then can we be proud of this once great nation
It was never really great to the core when you know the real history behind it considering how America actually became America...But the past is past and we must go on and make the best of it...
Aimee Brewster says "God Bless" at the same time she condones murder of innocents while Eric backs her up with ignorant propaganda...She seems like a decent person so I expect she'll be coming around eventually...
When her husband gets back he'll then be able to tell her how it really is, if he can or wants to...
Some do carry the lies on when they get home for what ever their personal reasons are but most do not...
I suspect it depends on several factors for them to carry the deception on but won't go into all that now...Big clue for one though, would be>>>(((MONEY)))
Should her husband, "Lord" forbid, get killed, I bet Aimee would no longer be hiding from evident truth right in front of our faces
It's elementary to understand that Cindy was still under illusion, not to mention her state of mind at that time of her son's death to believe and say bush had compassion...She still believed in bush...Just like her son, Casey did, as well as the minority of others who fell for his war, his false Christianity and all that goes with that, still do
Give it up, you who back perpetual war for the sake of the future of this planet and the very survival of your own children and generations to come...
You need research true history and wake up before it's too late...Doesn't the fact that you're the minority give you a clue?
Don't worry, you who recognize truth...
Help is on the way and those being deceived who have decent hearts will be seeing the light very soon as those already awake educate them
Those ignorant or paid to create false reality are losing hold as good thinking people with common sense enlighten the masses willing to learn truth
Too bad for the evil and greedy in power that all that weaponry for profit and oil destroying our planet that we don't even need, is about to become a thing of the past, huh?
Yes...I bet that little girl did thank Aimee's husband, all right...Some of them in the green zones are conditioned just for that purpose...
They have to create propaganda and photo opts to try to pull off all the deception...They were caught many times, in fact>>>(((RED HANDED)))...Didn't you see?...Even the biased media lets truth out here and there, you know?
Get real, will you and wake up before we become like a third world country here...
Some do have low IQ's and are harder to reach but for the most part there is a certain point one awakens when the facts in their heads finally get tallied...
Those with the higher IQ's only need hear a few of the facts to want to join the correct and moral side of humanity..."Thank God", because that will be what finally saves us all
If they pay attention that is and some do not...That's the problem...That small fraction of people who blindly back the corrupt administration is holding "US" back and keeping "US" from gaining peace, prosperity and justice for all
All it takes for the smarter people, may be to hear for themselves the bush administration lies and scandals...It would only take a small fraction of these blunders to convince most grade schoolers, actually
The true enemy and terrorists embedded in our government had it right in the beginning of this hell...They called it "Operation Iraqi Liberation" = oil, you know?...My husband pointed that out to me and the very next day they changed it to OIF as in freedom...What a joke on "US"
For Aimee's education
Marsha McClelland — 03:01 PM Mar 06, 2007
They're risking their lives and trading their sanity and souls for money and education, Aimee...Some just don't realize it until they get there and it's too late...My heart cries for them as much as it does for those innocent Iraqi's in the middle suffering and dying, daily...You need face facts...
They're actually bush's militant terrorists who occupy land to steal resources of others with perpetual war to help keep the rich, rich and "US" the peasants
911 was the lie that sent "US" there and that's fact...No one who has looked into the facts of the 911 atrocity believes Muslims with box cutters masterminded or pulled off 911...
It was the Pearl Harbor of this day and excuse for war just as Pearl Harbor was...They saw that one coming and allowed it and that's fact, too, if one cares to do the research
JFK was leveling with the people in his day and this same enemy that's been in control for generations had him murdered...Many murders were before that and many more since, too
Which brings "US" to the 911 conspiracy which is what the official story really is
911 was a "LIHOP" as Pearl Harbor was which means they let it happen on purpose
Or it was a "MIHOP" and made it happen on purpose
"We The People" are out to hold accountable the guilty and we will get to the bottom of it
Until heads roll as they are now beginning to because of the treatment of our Vets, we will not rest
And by the way...It's not just at Walter Reed that this treatment of our Vet's goes on as you will soon be hearing about in the media...That's fact, too
We are the enemy...There and here...
No doubt, terrorists are being created "NOW", due to the actions of those embedded and controlling our government and our allowing it
Some soldiers and civilians may not realize all of this but it's the truth...Think about it...
bush's paid and trained assassins is what they actually are...Knowing or not knowing, it's true
What a shock that must be when a solider finally realizes it for what it is...
They have no choice but to follow orders to murder innocents when they get there...Why do you think our victim soldiers are going nuts or killing themselves?
Please wake up and help bring them all home...There are other diplomatic ways to help Iraq and our enemy knows it but they won't be getting any richer that way...
the war

Supporters of Bush keep saying we need to "finish the job." My question is: What is the job we need to finish? Sadaam was hanged before he was tried for his alleged crimes against the Kurds in Halabja. (Why? It was feared the truth would be exposed that during that time, the U.S. was supporting him and supplying him with chemical weapons produced in Maryland. Also that the administration covered it up and our "free press" made hardly a mention of the atrocity. It is also possible that the villagers died in the crossfire of the war between Iran and Iraq. You know, we call it "collateral damage" when we accidentally kill civilians with our firepower, e.g., the thousands of innocent Iraqis killed fleeing from their homes who were shot by their American "saviours."So, back to the point: what is the job that needs to be finished? Please tell me now. We now know: there were never any weapons of mass destruction, so never was Iraq any threat to its neighbors much less to us; Hussein had no connection with Al Quaida; the brutal dictator is dead. All the lies have been exposed, and Bush still expects us to believe that there is indeed a mission left in Iraq other than controlling the oil? And, Eric Faulkner, do you really believe him that you are unpatriotic if you challenge all those lies? Bush and Cheney should have been impeached long ago but the real cowards are in the Congress and the Senate for not calling for impeachment, and for in fact, voting with only a "non binding" resolution to bring the troops home. We will see if these same cowards consent to fuel the war with Bush's proposal of an increase of $93 billion more to fuel this sickening LIE. Our Senator (Voinovich) has told us he will vote to support this monstrous increase even though he disagrees with the war. With wimps and cowards for representatives, this could go on forever. Many Toledo protestors have been arrested in the past weeks to make the point that we must end the insanity in Iraq.
I was one of them. It was the most freeing action I've ever done. Let us fill the jails,
as Dorothy Day called us to do in such times of
horrific injustice.

And Cindy: I am so ashamed of the heartless writers who added to your pain by their cruel and insensitive remarks. You deserve our utmost admiration and great respect for all your selfless work for the cause of peace.I know that Casey must be proud and happy that his mother is using his death to make a difference, and to keep other sons and daughters from being so senselessly sacrificed for the greed and political ambitions of the cowards. I weep with you, Cindy. I support your amazing work. I ask God's comfort for all those who have lost their greatest treasure: their children. I don't think I could survive such a loss unless I were to set myself to such work as you are doing.
We are with you.--Anne

The women of Lebanon have every freedom, except the freedom from American-supplied Israeli bombs. In case you haven't been reading the news, Eric, the U.S. and Israel just last year, killed entire families in Lebanon --over 1,000 men, women and children--in just a week or two, when it bombed the entire country. Is that democracy at work? And when the entire world voiced their outrage, the US Senate voted against a ceasefire. Lebanese women are now left with un-exploded cluster bombs--thousands of them-- in their backyards for their children to be blown up by. And the US is one of the few countries who voted against banning the production of such bombs.Yes, the REAL TERRORISTS ARE IN WASHINGTON.

Gabe Brewer — 12:44 PM Mar 07, 2007
First of all I have been serving in the Army for 10 years defending you people. Do you realize every right you have its because a Soldier shed blood for it. Everyone who thinks the tragedy on September 11th was done by our Government is an IDIOT. Our nation came under attack and you expect us to sit back and let it happen with no consequences. America became America because we are not a passive country and let people run all over us. I have been to Iraq and if you haven’t been how can you judge what goes on over there because you don’t know the truth. The media are the ones who are lying to the American people. The only thing they want to report are US casualties. They don’t report how the Iraqi people now have electricity, water, school supplies, and oh yeah a democracy. Saddam Hussein was an evil dictator who gassed his OWN people. How could anyone not say he was a threat to rest of the world. You can not tell me Saddam did not have WMD’s, mainly because I had to clear one of his chemical plants. Saddam gassed the Kurds for many years and all you have to do is go to northern Iraq and look at the people, it is very evident.Just in case you didn’t know the President has to have the permission from Congress to deploy the Army, and even the democrats supported the War. It is a sad thing that Cindy lost her son and I feel bad for her, but to blame the government for her loss is ridiculous. Maybe she should blame the terrorist who done it. If we leave Iraq now we are in grave danger. All we do is invite the terrorist to come to our country and attack us again. Since we 911 how many attacks has there been on US soil? Exactly we are fighting them on there land to keep them out of ours. Iraq harbored terrorist just as Iran and Syria does. You might respond by saying that I am “brainwashed” but I call it loyalty to my country and if you don’t like the country MOVE to another. That’s the great thing about this country, you have that right and I hope you use it because I am tired of reading and hearing crap like this. Why should the government tell the American people everything, they shouldn’t. You want the government to reveal intelligence gathered just so the public is informed. And Marsha when was the last time you went to Iraq, how do you know what is really going own? You dont, you sit here in America and type stupid comments on a blog and honestly you are ignorant to the whole situation. You talk about diplomatic ways to help Iraq, well lets hear them. Actions speak louder than words. How do you know who is innocent, you talk about soldiers killing innocents when the terrorist blend in with the local population trust me it is hard to tell who our enemy is. One day he will be giving you a hair cut and the next he will be placing an IED outside your FOB. Tell me who is the innocent. With all do respect you have no clue whats going on. Eric had it completely right, good job.
A little history lesson for you, during the Korean War we drove the North Koreans out of South Korea and Gen Douglas MacArthur wanted to continue to push north. President Truman said no our mission is to drive them out of South Korea not to attack them in North Korea. This is what happens when you have a passive president, that was a wise decision because North Korea hasn’t given anybody any problems since the war huh. The bottom line is if we pull out now the terrorist will come to America, kill innocent civilians by driving car bombs in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart.
No Matter what you guys might say, there is not a draft in the Army. Cindy's son went in under his own will. He voluntereed to go to War the minute he rose his right hand to swear into the Army. I dont want it to sound like I am talking bad about him because I have respect for him even though I dont know him. He volunteered to fight for this wonderfull country of ours and defend it at all cost. He made the ultimate sacrifice and for you to use that to bash the government is a disrespect to him and everyother American who gave there lives fighting for freedom, not only in Iraq but every war this country has been involved in. The job of the Armed Forces is to DEFEND the country agains enemies foriegn and domestic.
Again If you do not like this country please GET OUT because I dont want to fight for someone who hates this land.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND OF THE FREE
RE; LEWD REMARKS, AND A QUESTION
— 02:50 PM Mar 07, 2007
FIRST OF ALL, I WISH TO STATE THAT MR. ERIC IS HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL, AND HE HAS NO RIGHT SUBMITTING SUCH LEWD COMMENTS. MR. ERIC MAY REALLY HAVE ISSUES WITH HIS OWN MOM, AND HE MAY BE PROJECTING HIS SENTIMENTS UPON THE BLOG. HOW ELSE COULD HE NOT FEEL SHAME FOR HOW HE ATTACKS BOTH CASEY AND CINDY IN HIS STATEMENT THAT CASEY WAS "UNFORTUNATE" HAVING CINDY AS HIS MOTHER. BEWARE OF MAKING COMMENTS THAT REFLECT YOUR OWN IGNORANCE, AND LOOK WITHIN YOURSELF AS TO WHY YOU CHOOSE TO INSULT A MOTHER WHO LOST HER CHILD. STEER CLEAR OF INSULTING OTHERS YOU KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT. PLEASE FIGURE YOURSELF OUT, MR. ERIC, OR PLEASE GO TO THERAPY. NO, DON'T WRITE BACK SOMETHING DEFENSIVE. WHETHER YOU ADMIT IT OR NOT, YOU'RE PSYCHOLOGICALLY ILL.SECONDLY: UFPJ SEEMS TO BE COMBINING THE ISSUE OF IRAQ WITH THE ISSUE OF ENDING ISRAEL'S "OCCUPATION". MY SENTIMENT IS THAT ANTI-WAR GROUPS OUGHT TO STICK TO ONE ISSUE - ENDING THE WAR AND BRINGING OUR TROOPS HOME, RATHER THAN DILUTING THE ISSUES. THIS REMINDS ME OF BUSH'S JUSTIFICATION FOR ATTACKING IRAQ, BASED UPON THE ACTS OF PEOPLE FROM NON-IRAQ COUNTRIES. I HOPE ANTI-WAR GROUPS DO NOT "TAG ON" ISSUES. IT'S UNFAIR, AND IT WILL UNDERMINE THE ANTI-WAR MOVEMENT IN MY OPINION. I WONDER HOW GSFP FEELS ABOUT THIS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WRITE ON THE BLOG.

SHARON SWERDLOW — 08:20 AM Mar 08, 2007
There is a homeless shelter for Veterans where I live, and in it you'll find many aging veterans from the Vietnam War. This fact attests to the dismal future that these neglected Americans lived as a result of the unrecognized and untreated trauma they carried with them throughout their lives after having sacrificed for their country decades ago.The fallen (injured or dead) soldiers of government-perpetrated wars are not living in the limelight of fame. Sadly, this is the legacy all wars have left behind. Lives go on, and with new generations, governments begin new wars, and the cycles repeats itself. We list somewhere the names of our newly fallen soldiers, as dust settles over the names of men and women who died in past wars. The Face of War eventually becomes... and always has become... anonymous.
Cindy Sheehan and Casey Sheehan shall be a permanent legacy for this era of American history, because they represent the pain and suffering of all the unfortunate and eventually forgotten soldiers and their families who have been gravely harmed as a result of the current American-driven war in Iraq.
Political figures repeatedly derive success in perpetrating and justifying war by soothing citizens' outrage at the massive annihilation of the Dear Children of America via techniques of brain-washing. Through media censorship and control, citizens are lulled into believing that there is a noble award awaiting those who die for one's country. The true motivation behind the war is concealed as words like "democracy", "noble cause" and "patriotism" are twisted and nailed into place. No piece of paper, no purple heart can ever, ever make amends for the human hearts war ravages, for no reason other than to serve the grandiose schemes of those in power.
Cindy and Casey are the real Faces of War. The ex-soldier in a homeless shelter is the real Face of War. Post-traumatic Stress Syndrome is the real Disease of War. Cindy and Casey represent All of the Real Faces of War. Cindy has a God-given right to speak and write painfully yet honestly about how this war damages. She has the right as a True American to cut down the rhetoric about war's nobility and replace it with the Truth about War.
War isn't noble. War is America's politicians' way to carry forth ignoble plans. War is abusing and depleting the most valuable resource in America - our beloved children. War must be defeated.
Thank you Cindy and thank you, Casey.

If this war is such a honorable cause, where are your children? No one has anything to say about George sending his kids to war? How come only certian children have to fight? I'm pretty sure if no one ever volunteered for service we would all have blond hair, and blue eyes, right now. We've relied on the government to make choices for "us" but the time has come in realizing they are not doing the job properly. The soldiers job is to follow orders, they don't get to choose. The people of this country must guide government, it's what it's founded on. I will not leave this country I'm going to change it. Cindy, you have every right to say and do what ever you want. Peace out!Re: Sabotage
Gabe Brewer — 11:41 AM Mar 08, 2007
EFP-you speak of "Intelligent discussions among educated and responsible citizens" but there is one thing you dont realize, education about Iraq does not come from a magazine or the TV, it comes from experience, in which I am 99.9% sure you do not have any. So how can anyone who hasnt been there speak about it. You know the terrorist can get on the same websites you can, I am sure he is watching this blog and loving it because you are giving him fuel for the fire. Good job, way to be loyal to your country.Chrissy-you make it sound like soldiers are robot who do not have a mind of their own-WRONG. Are we trained to do cerain things, yes we are. Did Uncle Sam knock on our doors and say your now in the Army-NO he did not. They did get to choose, we have been at war since 2001. Anyone who joined after 9-11 had a choice. We all went and seen a recruitor and said I want to join the Army. The reason why "certain children" have to fight is because they choose to. The Armed Forces is not for everyone, some are to weak or scared to handle it. You say our government isnt doing the job properly, what should they do? Pull out of Iraq and let the terrorist put onther victory under his belt? Let a Radical Islamic come and be President of our country? That will work out real well. Everyone wants to point out problems but no one wants to point out a solution.
I will help you out, the problem is Cindy wants a scapegoat for her sons death. Yes it is a sad and tragic thing, but what about every other American who has died fighting for freedom? There parents did not blame the government. They knew once their child went into the Service there was a chance their child was going to go to war and possibly make the ultimate sacrifice.
The solution-instead of blaming the government why not blame the men responsible for this-THE TERRORIST. Lets not forget he is still out there. Maybe show some support for your country and your soldiers and support them in the War effort. We are now facing the same type of enemy we faced in WWII. What did mothers and sisters do for them while their child was at war, the went and worked in factorie to make tanks, planes, and other equipment to help them instead of complaining on a blog that is insane. I guess thats why they are the greatest generation though.
Marsha-Dont ever call me a liar when you are completely clueless to the whole situation. I am AIMEE's Husband by the way and you dont know how much it helped me to have support from here and other TRUE AMERICANs(something which most of you are not) while I was in Iraq.

Thank you, but the Islamic extremist WILL NEVER take this country and the World over. Its really a sad situation, the woman lost her son and all she is doing is trying to take her grief out on someone and it happens to be the Government. I am not saying she is right, I honestly think she is so far off but I do feel bad for her and I hope she finds peace within herself. The worst thing about it all is what you said in an earlier post, her son made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, the one he volunteered to defend and fight for and all he will be remembered for is the actions of his mother. One key thing to look back on is Sep 11, WE WERE ATTACKED BY TERRORIST, NOT BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT. I hope everyone remembers that.

Still pushing the Muslims with boxcutters masterminded and pulled off 911 propaganda, I see...Same old deceiving stuffI didn't call you a liar Gabe...You may well believe all they've brainwashed you with...You are under illusion and with the minority
Are you serving in a green zone?...If so then it's understandable where you're coming from...
I thank those in this war and past wars who fought for what they believed our liberties & freedom, including you, if that's the case
I don't know you but you feel genuine and not like one in the know and purposely choosing the immoral side of humanity to stand for
I do wish you well and will be praying for all our soldiers
Even my Dad who's a proud Marine fought truth to our reality, Gab...But I'm proud he fought that stubbornness and everything else purposely embedded in him, to finally come out of the dark
It was sad for him, that awakening, and he isn't one to give in easily, either...He was very rough on me and tortured me because I would not give up activism for years
One day me and Dad met an old Marine who was very wise at a car dealership...My Dad was semper flying with him and such and that old Marine changed my life
Thank him and "God"
He knew what was up and what wasn't...He verified all the truth to our reality I had been trying to reveal to my Dad for years
It was very hard and my Dad is one of those Marines that thinks he's still in and gives orders still
He was very hard on me and called me pea brain all the time because he would not believe truth concerning perpetual war and all behind it
That old Marine woke him up, finally...I said, "Dad, why wouldn't you believe anything I'd ever tell you but now you take this stranger for his word?"
He said, "It took a Marine to get the job done"
Because of my Dad I have many connections in The Marine Corp League...and working for "Toys for Tots" for years we know many from the American Legion posts, VFW posts, and ladies auxiliaries here in Ohio, personally
Dad knows VIP'S from all over the nation and keeps in contact with many big shots
Cindy, I can tell you that in Ohio these old soldiers are wise...They may not be active as we'd like but they now know truth and chatter goes in favor of "US" in these private clubs
If you'd like to come speak here or anything I promise to help gather the masses together...We could get "US" a bunch of good soldiers and Marines to come forward and speak out with the real truth if you'd like or have time
I am retiring from my activism on the internet very soon to hit the churches with truth in person, joining other activists already working in the trenches
Hey...Did you hear even some churches have thrown out the gag orders which was their tax exempt status in order to speak out for truth?...I have a link to prove it and will send it asap
Just say the word Cindy and we'll bring in the sheaves here in Ohio

Eric who is more than likely a paid agent as he has all the "tells" writes>>>Luckily, our government ignores these people"Well, we're not ignoring them and since they're the worst terrorists and creating more terrorists in other lands as time goes by, they better back off...They better not try to pull off or allow another trick on "US" like the atrocity of 911...It won't work because we're on guard

I cant believe what I am reading, how do you know what the truth is? When was your last rotation in Iraq? How do you know what goes on? You dont, your CLUELESS. To say that the government is brainwashing soldiers is ridiculous. It sounds like you and your little "activist" are nothing more than a cult. Why would I tell you where I am or were I was at, in my eyes your nothing more than a terrorist trying to gather intelligence to use it against MY government. I will defende my government and my nation at all cost, not because I am brainwashed, maybe because I bear true faith and allegiance to this country. I can truly lift my head up high and say I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN. Something obviously you are not.You say that our governemnt is creating more terrorist, maybe it seems that way because we are finding them, catching them or killing them. It's easy to discover more things once you look. If you would have an open mind maybe you would realize this. Maam with all do respect your very ignorant to whats happening in the world.
Dont worry Eric, I got your back, there are only a handful of people who has replied on here who actually has some sense.
Marsha do us a favor and just leave this country, men and women are tired of fighting for freedom just to hear you bash this Wonderful land.

Why I fled George Bush's war
What happened to make a patriotic, gung-ho soldier desert the U.S. army, and turn
against the war in Iraq. EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
JOSHUA KEY | Feb 7, 2007 | 11:40 am EST
Joshua Key, 28, was a poor, uneducated Oklahoma country boy who saw the U.S. army and
its promised benefits -- from free health care to career training -- as the ticket to a better life. In 2002, not yet 24 but already married and the father of two , Key enlisted. He says his recruiting officer promised he'd never be deployed abroad, but a
year later he was in Iraq. Only 24 hours after arriving, as Key recounts in The
Deserter's Tale (Anansi), he experienced his first doubts about what he and his fellow soldiers were doing there:
I was scared out of my wits that first day in Ramadi. Our own air force had just
finished bombing these people, but as soon as we got out of our vehicles we began
patrolling their streets, on foot. With nearly 100 lb. of weaponry, equipment and
clothing on my back, I was about as mobile as a cow. It was just my platoon, 20 guys, walking single file through streets full of Iraqis. I could not stop thinking that
anywhere, at any time, some half-starved sniper on a roof could have taken me out in no time flat. Iraqi kids surrounded me in swarms, hands out, asking for water and food.
I
kept hearing the last words [my wife] Brandi said to me before I flew out: "Don't you
let those terrorists near you, Josh. Even if they are kids. Get them before they get you."
I was awakened at 3 a.m. that first night and told to get my ass up quickly because in one hour we were going to raid a house full of terrorists. Capt. Conde and some
sergeants showed me and my squad mates a satellite photo of a house and a drawing of the layout of the inside. Our assignment was to blow off the door, burst into the house, raid it fast and raid it good -- looking for contraband, caches of weapons, signs of
terrorists or terrorist activity, then rounding up the men and getting out damn fast.
The longer we stayed in any one location, the longer somebody would have to put us in the sights of a rocket-propelled grenade or lob mortars at us.
I had no idea what to expect. Would I charge through the door, only to be blown to bits by a grenade? Would somebody with an AK-47 knock my Oklahoman ass right back out that door? Would some six-year-old terrorist with two days of gun training be waiting to put me in his crosshairs? The minutes ticked on, and I wanted the hour to speed forward so we could get on with it. One or two guys did push-ups to pump themselves up.
I borrowed Mason's portable CD player and bombed out my eardrums to the beat of Ozzy Osbourne. It got me going. High and ready for action. I checked my watch, wished it would accelerate, and stuck some dip -- Copenhagen, bourbon flavor -- behind my lip. You can't manage a cigarette when you've got an M-249 automatic weapon on your arm. So dip was best. Makes your mouth black as sin, and rots the roots right out of your gums, but dip was my
nicotine hit of choice going into that raid.
I committed our instructions to memory. I knew the angles of the house, what door I
would help blow down, how many floors were in the house, and who would do what when we busted inside. I would be third in the door, which means I was the second most likely to get shot if anybody had a mind to take us down, and I'd head to the left.
Always, for every raid, I would be third in, heading left. I gripped my M-249. Yes, it could belt out 2,000 rounds a minute but only in theory. You couldn't really hold your finger down
that long. When you were blazing away like that, the bullets turned the barrel as hot as Hades. And if you held your finger down too long, it would warp the barrel.
It took thirty seconds for Jones and me to put the charge of C-4 plastic explosive on
the door. Then we dashed around to the side of the house so we wouldn't blow ourselves up. You'd be fried meat if you were anywhere near the explosion. I set off the blast, and then the six of us charged in. Jones went first -- that skinny, red-haired Ohio boy was always hot to trot. With Jones leading the way we burst into the house, armed to the hilt. Kevlar helmets, flak jackets, machine guns, combat boots, the whole nine yards.
I'd never been inside an Iraqi's house before. We charged through a kitchen. I had been told by squad leader Padilla to check everything, so I even opened the fridge.
Perhaps, I thought, I would find guns or grenades hidden inside. No such luck. In the fridge, all I saw was a bit of food. In the freezer I found big slabs of meat, uncovered. No wrapping. No plastic. Frozen, just like that. We ran into a living room with long couches, one along each wall. In this room with the couches we found two children, a teenager, and a woman. We also found two young men in the house.
One looked like a teenager and the other was perhaps in his early 20s -- brothers.
We hollered and cussed. I spat dip on the floor and screamed along with the other
soldiers at the top of my lungs. I knew they didn't understand, but I hollered anyway.
"Get down," I shouted. "Get the f--k down. Shut the f--k up."
They didn't know what "get down" meant, so we knocked the two brothers to the floor, face down. We put our knees on their backs, pulled their hands behind them, and faster than you can bat an eye we zipcuffed them. Zipcuffs are plastic handcuffs that lock on tight. They must have bit something fierce into those young men's skin. There was no key, nothing -- the only way to get them off was to slice them with cutters.
We pushed the brothers outside, where 12 other soldiers from our platoon were waiting.
The Iraqi brothers were taken away to an American detention facility for interrogation.
I don't know what it was called, and I don't know where it was. All I know is that we
sent away every man -- pretty well every male over five feet tall -- that we found in
our house raids, and I never saw one of them return to the neighbourhoods we patrolled
regularly.
Inside, we kept on ransacking the house. The more obvious it became that we would find
no weapons or contraband, the more we kicked the stuffing out of the house. We knocked
over dressers, sliced into mattresses with knives, kicked our way through doors, raiding the three bedrooms on the second floor, then raced up to the third floor. We turned over
everything we could and broke furniture at random, searching for contraband, weapons,
proof of terrorist activity, or signs of weapons of mass destruction.
We found nothing but a CD. Soldiers initially said it showed proof of terrorist activity, but it turned out to have nothing on it but a bunch of speeches by Saddam Hussein.
Once we had everybody outside the house and had done our initial job of ransacking, another squad took over inside. They kept raising hell in there, breaking and turning over more furniture, looking for weapons that we might have missed.
Outside, under a carport, I was assigned to watch the women and children. We weren't arresting them, but we weren't allowing them to go anywhere either. The family members couldn't go back inside, and they couldn't wander off into the neighbourhood. They had to stay right there while we tore the hell out of their house.
A girl in the family -- a teenager -- started staring at me. I tried to ignore her. Then
she began speaking to me. Inside, when we had been screaming at her and the others, I'd assumed that nobody understood a word of English. But this young girl spoke to me in English, and her eyes bored holes right through me. She was skin and bones, not even 100 lb., not yet a full-grown woman, but something about her seemed powerful and disturbing.
I feared that girl, and I wanted to get away from her as fast as I could, but it was my
job to stay right there and make sure she didn't move. I had my weapon ready. She was wearing a blue nightgown and had a white scarf covering her hair. She had no veil, so I
could see her face perfectly. Her eyes were coal black and full of hatred.
In English, she asked me, "Where are you taking my brothers?"
"I don't know, Miss," I said.
"Why are you taking them away?"
"I'm afraid I can't say."
"When are you bringing them back?"
"Couldn't tell you that either."
"Why are you doing this to us?"
I couldn't answer that.
I hoped she would not raise a fuss. I didn't want her to start screaming, which could
attract the attention of my squad mates. One or two, I feared, would be more than happy to use a rifle butt to knock out her teeth.
I hadn't been in Iraq more than 24 hours and already I was having strange feelings.
First, I was vulnerable, and I didn't like it. Even with all these soldiers and all this
equipment, I knew that anywhere, at any time, any Iraqi with a gun, a wall to hide
behind, and one decent eye could pick me off faster than a hawk nabs a mouse.
Second, with hardly one foot into the war, I was also uneasy about what we were doing there.
Something was amiss. We hadn't found anything in this girl's house, but we had busted it
up pretty well in 30 minutes and had taken away her brothers. Inside, another squad was still ransacking the house. I didn't enjoy being stuck guarding this girl under the carport, in the cool April air before dawn in Ramadi. Her questions haunted me, and I
didn't like not being able to answer them -- even to myself.
Busting into and ransacking homes remained one of my most common duties in Iraq. Before my time was up, I took part in about 200 raids. We never found weapons or indications of terrorism. I never found a thing that seemed to justify the terror we inflicted every
time we blasted through the door of a civilian home, broke everything in sight, punched and zipcuffed the men, and sent them away.
One raid was far worse.
It was a handsome two-storey house and quite isolated. As usual, I put the charge of C-4 explosives on the door and we blew it in. As we rushed into the house, women were staggering out of their rooms. Three teenage girls screamed when they saw us.
Some of my squad mates grabbed them and held them at gunpoint, and the rest of us ran through the house. We found no men at all, just six more women in their 20s and 30s. The guys in my squad couldn't find a thing, not even any guns -- and it seemed that the more incapable they were of locating contraband, the more destructive they became.
They smashed dressers, ripped mattresses, broke cabinets, and threw shelves to the floor.
Outside I found Pte. 1st Class Hayes with a woman under an empty carport. He pointed his M-16 at her head but she would not stop screaming.
"What are you doing this for?" she said.
Hayes told her to shut up.
"We have done nothing to you," she went on.
Hayes was starting to lose it. I told her that we were there on orders and that we
couldn't speak to her, but on and on and on she bawled at Hayes and me.
"You Americans are disgusting! Who do you think you are, to do this to us?"
Hayes slammed her in the face with the stock of his M-16. She fell face down into the dirt, bleeding and silent. The woman lay still on the ground. I pushed Hayes away.
"What are you doing, man?" I said to him. "You have a wife and two kids! Don't be
hitting her like that."
He looked at me with eyes full of hatred, as if he was ready to kill me for saying those words, but he did not touch the woman again. I found this incident with Hayes
particularly disturbing because during other times I had seen him in action in Iraq, he
had showed himself to be one of the most level-headed and calm soldiers in my company. I had the sense that if he could lose it and hit a woman the way he had, any of us could lose it too.
Then something happened that haunts my dreams to this day. All the women were led back inside the house and our entire platoon was ordered to stand guard outside it. Four U.S. military men entered the house with the women. They closed the doors.
We couldn't see anything through the windows. I don't know who the military men were, or what unit they were from, but I can only conclude that they outranked us and were at least at the level of first lieutenant or above. That's because our own second lieutenant Joyce was there, and his presence did not deter them.
Normally, when we conducted a raid, we were in and out in 30 minutes or less. You never wanted to stay in one place for too long for fear of exposing yourself to mortar
attacks. But our platoon was made to stand guard outside that house for about an hour.
The women started shouting and screaming. The men stayed in there with them, behind closed doors. It went on and on and on.
Finally, the men came out and told us to get the hell out of there.
It struck me then that we, the American soldiers, were the terrorists. We were
terrorizing Iraqis. Intimidating them. Beating them. Destroying their homes. Probably
raping them. The ones we didn't kill had all the reasons in the world to become
terrorists themselves. Given what we were doing to them, who could blame them for
wanting to kill us, and all Americans? A sick realization lodged like a cancer in my
gut. It grew and festered, and troubled me more with every passing day. We, the
Americans, had become the terrorists in Iraq.
In December 2003, Key went home on a two-week leave. He never returned to Iraq. Instead, Key went into hiding. The following March, he and his family crossed the Canadian border at Niagara Falls.

A Coward
Gabe Brewer — 11:41 PM Mar 08, 2007
This guy is a real American right....no far from it. He is nothing more than a coward. He is scared and will not admit it. What you might not realize out of all this is that in Apr 03 the enemy was memebers of Saddams Bath party and the terrorist that resided in Iraq. Thats why the CD's with Saddams speeches was contraband, proved he supported the Bat Party. Of course you are taking the word of a coward, one who turned his back on his country. I am GLAD he took himself to Canada. He is not welcome in MY COUNTRY. He means nothing to me and I hope he comes back to America so he can get the death penalty for being a deserter during the time of War. Again your sources are wrong Marsha and your making yourself look like a bigger idiot. But dont worry you fit in with about 90% of the rest of the people on here.Does everyone have the right?
chrissy — 08:56 AM Mar 09, 2007
Eric you're the expert, how come no one "sends" their children to the military? Educate me on how volunteer army is drastically different. I think it's service just the same. Is it more honorable to volunteer during war time? I think this is why the service gives special mention to the matter. If children didn't volunteer, what then? By the way, George should encourage his children to volunteer due his position on the war. Eric, you should "too" knowing how you are such the patriot. How do you know if George's children haven't wanted to join? Maybe Barbra went to her dad and said "I'm going to join the Army today." George told little Barbra "that's not a good idea because you could get killed." Suppose Barbra decided FU Dad, I'm joining anyway. Eric, do you think Barbra would get deployed with all the other patriotic "volunteer" soldiers? Egumacate me, this blog site is for debate. The welfare dollars are at work. Let's here what the FBI has 2 say.PS-Cindy can say what ever she wants, thanks to the volunteers.

Mister,You are 99.9% right that I have not been to the hell-hole that is Iraq today. But your are 0.1% wrong because I was in Iraq in the early 1980's when Iraq was prosperous and Baghdad was a small paradise. Those were the days when Saddam Hossein shook hands happily with the now disgraced Rumsfeld and thanked him for the WMD that Washington shipped to him for the future wars planned way in advance in the Oval Office. Saddam was only a puppet who simply obeyed his masters who had brought him into power in the first place. But,one day he had to go because his time was up like any other puppet put into place by Washington.
Now, we have an honest first hand account of what is actually going on in Iraq today thanks to MARSHA. Thank you Marsha by the way. Iraq the pristine land that I visited long ago is a hell-hole and it is only the beginnig. Iraq is to become another Darfour, razed of its old civilization and emptied of its citizens through outright slaughter so as BUSH-CHENEY's dream of Mid-East oil fields domination can come true. They did it to American Indians too. Those poor inhabitants of the American prairie were labeled terrorists too and exterminated in the same manner. This time it is about oil.
If there was no oil in Iraq, BushCo wouldn't give a damn and wouln't waste a dime spreading his democracy to them. Democracy Bush style , of course : rape them, torture, them, kill them.
But is torture and rape and slaughter of innocents in line with the American spirit? The answer is NO. We all love the USA for what it was meant to be : land of righteousness and justice and generosity amomng other things according to principles laid down by the Founding Fathers. What is going on today then?
A devil named Bush has pitted one half of the population against the other in his plan to divide and rule in total lawlessness. Let's go all behind the smokescreen and bring out the culprit to the light of the day and lynch him. Let us get together for the love of USA against the real enemy within. Long live USA. Blessed be the USA.

Gabe Brewer — 11:47 AM Mar 09, 2007
Ok you went to Iraq in the early 1980's, just like everything else in the world it has changed in the last 27 years. Totally different place now which you just admitted you dont know whats going on. Ok so if the USA did give Saddam WMD's then, what does that have to do with President Bush.....the answer is nothing. Marsha is clueless to what is going on over there, she is taking the word of a traitor and coward, he fled the Army and the Country. I hope he comes back to America and gets caught, he deserves to be punished. How do you know its about oil, you dont because you to are ignorant to the situation. You speak of rape, torture and killing. What you failed to realize is that those who are tortured and killed have American blood on their hands and they deserve it, if the soldiers on the ground have to torture an insurgent to gather intelligence that could save one American life, its worth it. The rape, I disagree with the soldiers who do that but you also have to look at how they are being prosecuted by the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT. But do we not have the same things going on in our on country? Are you out protesting that? No your on a blog trying to bash the administration. I hope the President does read this, I will tell him "Mr. President good job". The reason I say that is because if we have to fight the enemy on his land to keep him out of ours....good job. If that means me going to some strange country for a year to fight so my wife and kids will be safe....good job. But you fail to see the big picture, all you see is CBS reporting U.S. casualties.Chrissy
Mary — 11:50 AM Mar 09, 2007
One problem I have with the proposition that Bush's daughters should join the Army is that they could never join, even if they did want to. To place any president's children in harms way could lead to the horrible situation of American being blackmailed. Imagine if Jenna was kidnapped and ransomed for the price of carpet bombing Israel. No president would ever allow this country to open to such vulnerabilities, and frankly it would lead to situations worse than a failed Iraqi state. Plus, I don't think the Secret Service would ever go along with it.Eric Faulkner

and by the way as much as i can't tolerate watching the bushes lie to america, on 911 i watched every speach that little weasle tried to give. he lied through his teeth blaming whoever was handy to blame and he lied about the weapons of mass destuction. i'll not try to enumerate all the lies he has spouted there are far too many. and i watched very carefully the damage his father did to this country from way back when he was in the cia. now how about an accounting of the treatment our brave warriors are recieving from these cowards?eric

i posted a note before this last one that seems to have gotten lost in the netherworld, i'll try to remember it because it is important to cindy if not to you. "i'm sure you took her statement out of context. no this crooked government we have now is not worth sending your children to die for. why don't we see more in the news about their perfidy, because they control the news and they "the complex" do not want us to know. wake up little boy "THE EMPORER HAS NO CLOTHES" we have much more to fear from our own government than any boogyman bush cooks upBi Eric
Chrissy — 09:38 AM Mar 10, 2007
What a surprise "have no clue what your point was", I'm shaking with disbelief. Mr. spell check, it's a question unless your not interested in discussing topics. Buy the weigh, "point is" present tense not past, but what can we expect from undercover. Honestly, is their a reason you can not answer the questions? Tell me how volunteer is different from compulsory other than the odvious. It's a strait forward question. Does everyone who signs up for service consider a possible war, even during peace time? Any one who signs up for service recognizes war is possible? Is this the risk when signing the dotted line?PS-Do you have a following? Are people gathering around in support of your beliefs? May want to ask yourself why they are not. Have a nice vacation. Are you bringing your kids?
thank you
chrissy — 09:58 AM Mar 10, 2007
First of all "the secret service would never go along with it", didn't know it is the secret service place to decide. How is it that royalty will deploy from England? Do they not face the same consequences as "us" people? Maybe American lives are worth more?, and the ransom would just be to much money. Further, the country would not be able to pay the money because all of "us" dollars have gone to the war. Thank you for answering my question Mary. Some children must fight but others are just to valuable. Glad I'm not worth all that money because the secret service would make my decsions and I'd like to make them instead. Peace out.treatment of wounded vets
rae — 11:40 AM Mar 10, 2007
come on eric and gabe explain to us why these wounded vets are getting such shoddy treatment from this bunch of criminals who sent them to war? it doesn't matter how many scapegoats are fired it is absolutely clear who is responsible.thank you cindy
rae — 09:26 AM Mar 11, 2007
thank you for those you have saved from bushes clutches.. i've read and reread these letters and it is obvious there are people in this country who will never see the truth. your son will be very proud of his mother for speaking the truth when others would not and saving other mothers sons. i'm sorry to say you are spinning your wheels by appealing to bushes wife, if she had any brains she wouldn't tolerate his ignorance. as for you eric if you cannot see the connection between the way the wounded vets (walter reed was never mentioned, they are not getting proper care all across the country) have we not been told many times that the fool has cut V.A. funding? and they were not being funded enough to begin with, bush needs the money for his useless war and to line his friends pockets) are treated and this illegal war there is no sense in trying to debate with you but for those who may still have some sense of right and wrong here is the connection: bush sends these young kids to fight HIS war for him believe it they are not fighting for the country. he lied to get it started, they do not have proper equipment and gear when they get there, they are encouraged to rape and pillage which makes the dander to them even greater they are tought to torture, it will come back at them any good commander knows that. they are spreading ?DEMOCRACY. who in this world wants that kind of democracy? they do their patriotic duty and either get killed (the lucky ones) or come back home to learn the truth. BUSH has cut V.A funding so they cannot even get proper care for their war wounds and the democracy they were fighting for has been cancelled by the stroke of a pen. how much more proof do you need to see the truth ERIC and GABE and aimee how much more proof that this is all a scam? this w3ar is for profit!odvisously
chrissy — 10:42 AM Mar 11, 2007
Maybe that's your problem, jealous that Cindy has support (a following). It's dificult to raise a serious debate and raise questions to Mrs. George without posing questions about children. Furthermore, why do you have an interest in my marital status? It's true I didn't read the shite that you and Gabe are discussing. Would you like me to, do you need my opinion? Sorry Eric but you missed the point about the volunteer question, poor thing. I'm not a military expert as you are but pretty sure it's the same oath war or peace time. Answer this question or don't, why are people making such a deal out of signing during war or peace time? again, edumacate me.peace out, chrissy.

Yes, I meant Laura. I'm not always right but can admit when I'm wrong. It's a pretty good quality and one world learders should consider. Peace out.re: treatement of wounded vets
Gabe — 12:38 PM Mar 12, 2007
How can you say there treatment is shoddy. The wounded vets of today have far better treatment than they did in the past. They wounded vets who have lost limbs get protestics free. They get medically compensated for the rest of their lives. Granted does this replace your arm or leg you lost, no not at all. But everyone who joined the military knew that was a possibility when they joined. I know you are going to bring up the issue of Walter Reed and that is a sad situation. But you probably dont know that it is scheduled to be closed thats why maintence was not done to standard.Focus on what you / we want to create.
Steve — 07:45 PM Mar 12, 2007
We can't fight the war and not give it more energy. We need to come from another angle.I believe it was Mother Terresa that said that if you are going to have a war protest I will pass but if you have a peace march count me in (exact words are likely a bit different but the idea is there).
This all becomes a bit of a spiritual ball of yarn for me. I find it easy to be sucked into the negativity, fear and so on that an aware person could easily be harmed by too much negative information. So, is one to poke their head in the sand? That doesn't seem likely to produce good results.
I am sure many of you have seen videos that show the unlikelyhood of WTC 1 and 2 falling without some help. WTC 7 is even more suspicious with the BBC reporting its fall 20 minutes before it actually fell. Conspiracy theorists will point to it having been an inside job with the time line off by 20 minutes or more. I see the possibillity that the BBC has a time machine and that is how they were able to report the event before it happened (joking).
So, we have a likelyhood that there was an inside job. We can set that debate to the side and see what we know for sure in the other areas and then maybe come back to it.
Real ID is coming.
We are data mining our people just as was done in Nazi Germany with the help of IBM.
We are torturing prisoners. This is counter productive to a war effort overall.
We have secret prisons around the world. We were told we didn't and then that we did.
We haven't found any weapons of mass distruction.
Fox news won a suit in Florida that it has no responsibillity to report the truth.
Our media is down to 6 owners which happened on Clinton's watch. Not sure if this makes all Democrats suspect as well. We should be careful of both Republicans and Democrats.
The remaining media is owned by interests that would favor war time spending to profit from it. This is repugnant to me.
The votes were hacked to give Bush a 6% advantage where there were Diebold machines and other tradtional means of voter suppression were carried out as well.
We have caused 650,000 Iraqis to die with out intervention and opened up an internal conflict that seems to have a life of its own. Hitler killed about 6 million so we have one tenth of a holocaust going on now.
We haven't treated our own troops well in the field or when they return injured.
My understanding is that Walter Reed Hospital was moved from military control to contracted control and to save money is the reason the conditions are so poor.
(Can anyone verify this or refute it...it is my understanding but I can't keep up with all the issues and maintain my other duties in life?)
and the list goes on and on......
I don't have the answers but if we get sucked into all this negativity we are part of the problem.
I am struggling with this myself as to how I can focus my energy in a postitive way.
Here is what I have so far:
I want to recreate America as a country of justice and respect within its borders and Internationally. In this new America I want these things to be valued:
- Truth
- Justice
- Compassion
- Team work (Republicans and Democrats dividing the people is not in the peoples best interest, listen to the opposition and see where the truth lies without attachment to previous assumptions. For example, I think 911 was an inside job, but really I don't know. I wasn't there. I don't trust the news.....I am still searching for the truth as it presents itself.)
- Value people over profits. This affects laws, environmental issues, land use and other areas. I also believe we need to allow corporations to be considered as part of the environment. If we destroy the corporations there go jobs, food, infrastructure and so on. The people need corporations and the corporations need people. We may need to adjust peridically to keep it all balanced.
The message can't be about hate. Corny as it may sound we must come at this with love. For me love is not passive but requires action.
Again, I am still working on what actions can be taken that will affect the outcome positively.
Best wishes to a better America and a better world.

We all need to understand that ZIONIST TREASON GOVERNS AMERICA! Laura Bush and her despicable family, as well as the Cheneys and most all of the federal government are part of a much bigger picture and they always have been for many years. They would not be in the White House if they were the good guys. The only solution for ending the wars and the criminality that is forced upon us is for enough Americans to become awakened enough to take back our government by whatever forceful means necessary to do so.For more info go to www.conspiratology.com or www.nationalvanguard.org or www.davidduke.com
Presently our government is a treasonous, totalitarian entity that wants us all dead. It is just that simple. Our government is run by Israel. Period, end of story. "None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe that they are free." -- Yohann W. vonGoethe

Sam Scott, Eric & Aimee
Timbre' Wolf — 01:17 AM Mar 13, 2007
It's a small and insignificant point, perhaps.Spc. Sam Scott said, "I can't believe you can sit there and act as if you have no compassion on the lives of innocent Iraqi's as an insane dictator single handedly called for the execution of millions of his own people."
Actually, Saddam was only accused, and found guilty, of killing 148 people. Estimates of the death toll under Saddam, if the media is to be believed, put the figure at 500,000 to 600,000. A Johns Hopkins study puts the death toll of Iraqi's, after the US declared war and started bombing, at 600,000.
The number of dead at the hand of Saddam, Sam, is NOT "millions"...it is the same as the number that US military has killed since Saddam was removed from power.
Spc. Sam Scott said, "There have been attempts to resolve things through diplomacy, and when those attempts failed, action had to be taken."
A gentle reminder, Sam, Hans Blix stated that UN inspectors could not find the WMD's which the administration assured us were there. We didn't find them either. Perhaps diplomacy WAS working.
Spc. Sam Scott wrote, "This war had to start sooner or later. If it wasn't in Afganistan or Iraq, it would definately be somewhere else in that region." Why, Sam? We may, in fact, be facing a real enemy. But that enemy is NOT a country in the Middle East. It is a radical ideology just like, oh...say..., communism for example. Our war on that ideology was just as successful as this one is turning out to be.
Spc. Sam Scott wrote, "You are not helping this great nation in any way by bickering and complaining about why soldiers die for your freedoms." Sam, while you've been gone those freedoms have been removed. The Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and others have run rough shod over our freedoms. And if you don't want to believe me then perhaps you'll take the word of the Supreme Court (two members had already been appointed by George W. Bush when these rulings came out, btw). In two cases the Supreme Court has ruled the actions of George W. Bush (both personally and within the administration) UNCONSTITUTIONAL. In a third case a Federal Judge ruled the same thing. If any of US broke the law this many times there would be a resounding "THREE STRIKES!"
Sam also wrote, "Jesus is the prince of peace, ...If you pray, pray God's will be done, not your will be done." Sam, my friend, on of the "big ten" is "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." You have just broken this one. I am the whip in the temple.
Eric and Aimee, you should strive to throw your support behind an ideology that gets it's facts straight.

Out of that 600,000 how many directly did we (Americans) kill? Actually your numbers are way off. There have been 59,000 Iraqi citizens killed by violence. That number is not from the US military either, that is from the brookings institution. Hans Blix could not confirm or DENY that Saddam had the WMD. The president acted off of intel he had. Is it his fault if the intel he had was wrong. Well Saddam had at least the capability because I was in one of his plants were he made them. And Saddam did gas his own people for many years, go to Northen iraq and look at those people, its horrible. You say that Eric and Aimee should throw their support behind an idealogy that gets its fact straight, well i picked out to topics to reply to and both were not correct. Volunteer Soldiers Devastated by Iraq Weren't "Asking for It"A TRUE PATRIOT WROTE>>>
"They volunteered, didn't they?" is a common sneering response to the stories about National Guardsmen whose lives were destroyed by Iraq -- the truth is that going to war is not what they signed up for.
"They volunteered, didn't they?"
As the war in Iraq has gone from wrong to worse, that question, often delivered as a statement, has become the fallback stance of folks who are attempting to silence the voices of those of us who actually have loved ones in uniform, or who died while wearing it. I love my country dearly, but sometimes it's difficult to retain a feeling of love for my countrymen who have said, "They volunteered, didn't they?" in an effort to shut up the growing numbers of military and Gold Star families who are speaking out against this war.
More often than not, the phrase falls from the mouths of people who will send our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, spouses and children to war, but blanch or literally roll their eyes at the suggestion that they send their own, or -- heavens! -- go themselves.

Well Marsha when they signed up to go into the service what did they sign up for then? If its not the job of our Armed Forces to fight the wars of this country who's is it. The truth of the matter is as soon as the individual goes to the recruiter and says I want to join, he or she just signed up to go to war. Because that is what our mission is in the Armed Forces. I joined the Army in 1997 and have been in it every since then, I knew back in 1997 that even though we were not at war that it was a possibility that I would go to one eventually. Why did I know this, because it is the job of the Army and the other branches to defend this country. If not us, who then? Your little peace group? Every male in my family has defended this country, now myself and my brother both are doing it. What would happen if this country didnt have an Armed Forces? Your little group wouldnt be saying anything then because your beheading would be filmed and aired on AL Jazeera. I am not attempting to silence anyone, I am trying to give everyon the actual truth and not something you keep calling the truth. Maam your version of the truth is so far off. YES MARSHA THEY DID VOLUNTEER, if they didnt tell me their draft number. Tell me what agency came and picked them up to go to the service. They certainly didn't sign up to murder innocent people and steal resources along with all else involved, to sustain the rich and greedy, now did they?To serve for noble cause for our freedom and liberty is a joke, now, and the majority aren't buying it any more
All thinking people with even a little common sense can figure that out, once true facts are pointed out for them, these days
Thank "God" our people aren't as easily fooled as they used to be
They didn't sign up to murder and die for the lies of 911, did they?...They were truly fooled in many cases...The modern day "Pearl Harbor" and you know this, too, don't you?
Both excuses, in the name of perpetual war to feed the beast behind "it"
You sound too intelligent not to realize the facts for what they are, so therefore must be complicit with the true terrorists embedded in our own government
Shame on you being one of bush's militant terrorists for profit...Really, shame on you...
You never answered me when I asked you if you were in a green zone, either...You called me a name and said you'd be a fool to tell me...I don't need know where and that wasn't what I asked...Just "yes" or "no" to being in a green zone, will do
Your wife, Aimee, will know if you lie, remember that
You need keep your propaganda to yourself and work on the condition of your heart...If there really is a "Hell" you are in serious danger, I'd say
There is time to tell the truth and join the correct and moral side of humanity, you know, Gabe...Do it for the sake of your loved ones, if not yourself
None of you on the wrong side will escape effects of this illegal occupation...You will pay eventually, one way or another...and so will your families...It's called (((KARMA))), by some and "What goes around, comes around", by others
"We The People" are taking our country back and that's fact...We are armed with "Truth" and can't be beat...We are the majority, I repeat...And the rest of our Calvary is on the way...
Here's more truth for you who are ignorant of facts, to take in...You, who are the enemy or complicit can chew on this truth but it won't do you any good

A quarter of US war vets diagnosed with mental disorder
A quarter of the Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans treated with US government-funded health care have been diagnosed with a mental disorder, according to a study published Monday.
And when psychosocial disorders such as domestic violence were included, the number of war veterans suffering from mental illnesses rose to 31 percent.
The instances of mental illness among recently discharged troops and members of the National Guard are significantly higher than those of a study published last year which examined active duty troops, the lead researcher told AFP.
That study found that while a third of returning troops were accessing mental health services, only 12 percent were diagnosed with a mental illness or psychosocial disorder.

How can you say the murder innocent people? When your on a patrol and an IED goes off on you and there are 3 people standing there watching, who is innocent? See you wouldnt know, because you havent been and you dont know the situation. You say 911 was an inside job, lets see that facts that proves that. Everyone on here he keeps saying that doesnt have the facts to support what they are saying. Well here are some facts, Bin Laden claimed responsibility for the attack. The plane in which someone stood up and said this isnt happening carshed in a field and didnt hit its intended target. Were are your facts that say it was an inside job? You guys watch to much TV. There is one thing I know, my country was attacked by terrorist(Bin Laden) and we took the fight back to them on their land. You say you are armed with the truth but with all do respect you are armed with ignorance/stupidity.
Since you do not support my country or my government I will not tell you any specifics on the location I was at in Iraq, you dont deserve to know.
All your stats about war vets what are they compared to WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam? I bet they are about the same or lower. Thats a fact of War and in order to have peace there must be a war. And I am sure that yahoo news has the latest and greatest info because they are there on the front lines huh? You want to see the real truth what Iraq is Like, get on a plane on go there. Dumb, Stupid Animals On A Chessboard In Iraq
Disrespect for the military from Kissinger to Rumsfeld
by Joann Fischella
12.11.2004
"Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy."
-- Henry A. Kissinger, quoted by Monika Jensen-Stevenson, Kiss the Boys Goodbye, Dutton, 1990, Page 97, citing The Final Days, Woodward and Bernstein (Simon & Schuster, 1976)
He seemed surprised and taken aback by a question posed by a Tennessee Guardsman. It was a town hall style meeting with about 2300 troops in Kuwait waiting to go north into the bloody Iraq quagmire.
Spc. Thomas Wilson was the third one to pose a question to Secy. of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who said they could ask tough ones.
http://www.defenselink.mil/transcripts/2004/tr20041208-secdef1761.html
"We've had troops in Iraq for coming up on three years and we've always staged here out of Kuwait. Now why do we soldiers have to dig through local landfills for pieces of scrap metal and compromised ballistic glass to up-armor our vehicles and why don't we have those resources readily available to us?"
It must have been a question on many minds because after a few seconds of stunned silence, the warehouse, filled with troops from all branches of the military, erupted with loud cheers and applause.
Rumsfeld is usually a master of doublespeak. “There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns - that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know, but there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we do not know we don't know.” This question seemed to catch him at a loss for words.
http://www.afterall.net/index.php/sic/485
After asking Wilson to repeat his question, the answer Rumsfeld gave seemed to emphasize the thinking expressed in the earlier Kissinger quote. The assembled “pawns” heard the Secretary say, “As you know, you go to war with the Army you have. They’re not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time.” That may hold true for an Army used for defense. This is an Army that was ordered to launch a pre-emptive strike. Starting a war without preparing “the Army you want” is just another example of the miscalculations and failures of this administration.
Showing additional disdain for the safety of our troops, in an attempt to minimize a serious problem Rumsfeld said, “And if you think about it, you can have all the armor in the world on a tank and a tank can be blown up. And you can have an up-armored humvee and it can be blown up.” It wasn’t a confidence building statement.
There have been other startling scandals regarding the military’s treatment of those we ask to enter harm’s way for reasons that have all since been proven groundless.
Spc. Robert Loria had his hand and forearm ripped off by a roadside bomb while riding in a Humvee near Baghdad. He also sustained a broken leg and shrapnel that penetrated the left side of his body. After recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Loria was sent back to Ft. Hood, TX and discharged last week. Unfortunately, he was unable to return to his family in NY because he didn’t have enough money to buy gas for his car. The Army had confiscated his last paycheck and presented him with a bill showing he still owed a balance of $1768.81 that included travel expenses from Ft. Hood back to Walter Reed for a follow-up and $310 in unreturned equipment. Perhaps when his hand was blown off he was unable to collect all of his gear as he was being loaded on a stretcher. It took three Democratic legislators, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Charles Shumer, and Rep, Maurice Hinchley to straighten out the paperwork that finally allowed Loria to be able to get home.
http://www.veteransforcommonsense.org/NewsArticle.cfm?ID=2537
Another shame on the military and our nation is the plight of homeless veterans. According to the Homeless Veterans coalition 300,000 veterans seek shelter on any given night. Almost half served during the Vietnam era, but veterans from the Iraq war are already starting to turn up.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20041207-121848-6449r.htm
If the military continues to treat America’s young sons and daughters in uniform like “dumb, stupid animals” perhaps the only recourse is to ask PETA to intervene.

After reading this page, I am sick to my stomach. Gabe, I'm sorry but you are either totally wrong or you're an agent, and Eric is absolutely an agent and he is lying. The wars are illegal and immoral, 9/11 was totally an inside job designed to justify them, it was a cruel and evil false-flag operation, and the truth is coming out! The US military is being sacrificed on the altar of global government by the NWO. Every war in the last century has been engineered by the ruling elite to increase their power and wealth and advance the agenda toward global government. The wars are manufactured by the elite, can't you see it? The current wars were manufactured with a false-flag terror attack called 9/11. Wake up before it's too late! Turn off the TV, it's nothing but propaganda, all lies all the time. It is the ultimate brainwashing device. Anyone with 2 brain cells, when shown the obvious evidence, can clearly see all this. It insults the intelligence of a 3-year old. BYW, don't call me a "liberal" because I'll tell you right now, the Dems aren't going to save us either. It's not about democrat/republican, left or right, liberal or conservative, those are false dichotomies, designed by the rulers to keep up divided. This is about right vs. wrong. Period. WAKE UP!Facts
JoAnn — 12:41 PM Mar 15, 2007
Gabe, you are the one with confused facts. Tell me again why we went to Iraq? For Bin Laden? He wasn't there. For WMD's? They weren't there. Because Saddam killed "millions" of his own people? He was convicted (in Kangaroo court) of killing 142 people who tried to overthrow his government. In fact, under Clinton's sanctions, up to a million died, now under Bush we're working on the next million dead. Were any of the "supposed" hijackers Iraqi? Here, let me help you with that--NO! Now I'll give you a fact that you should go check: In 2000, Saddam started trading oil in euros. THAT is an invadable offense to our administration. Now Iran is doing the same, how long before we invade them to straighten them out? We're already on their doorstep. You're blind patriotism helps no one except the crooks who've masterminded the war on terror by creating terrorism. How many of you had a knee-jerk response to attack Iraq at the behest of the perps, on flimsy intel and lies? Now do yourself a favor, Gabe, and educate yourself on the real state of the world and our place in it.
To Suanne and JoAnn
Gabe — 06:01 PM Mar 15, 2007
Suanne-I dont have to watch the TV to get my info on Iraq, I have been there, how about you? Where is your facts that support 911 was an inside job? Let me guess you dont have them. You say anyone with 2 brain cells can see when shown the evidence, show me the evidence. You show me facts instead of lies I will believe, but you cant show them to me because all it's all lies. How can you call someone an idiot who has been there, has fought and served honorably and is still serving when I am 100% sure you havent been there. I am afraid you are the one who needs to turn off the TV because that is not a great source of your "facts". Which no one on here who claims that 911 was an inside job has by the way.
JoAnn-Where are you getting we are up to a million dead, since the invasion of Iraq there has been 59000 Iraq citizens killed. That is fact, I have the documents in front of me to prove it, if you dont believe me go to brookings institute and look for the Iraq Index. Well if Saddam never had WMD's explain the chemical plant that Saddam used that I had to Clear. Explain to me why there was a warhead making factory in the same complex. Let me guess thats something that Bush had built during the war to make it look like Saddam had chemicals. See you dont have the truth because you havent been on the ground over there. For your information Saddam was trading oil for missiles. Iran is clearly supporting terrorist and yes they are a threat to the free world, however I dont think we will be going in there anytime soon. How do you know what national origin the highjackers were? I am not saying they were Iraqi, I am saying Iraq was a threat to the US and the rest of the World. Iraq harbored terrorist and that is the truth, again you would know if you had been there.

Helping Iraq Kill with Chemical Weapons:
The Relevance of Yesterday's US Hypocrisy Today
by ELSON E. BOLES
You may feel disgusted by the hypocrisy of US plans to make war on Iraq and sickened at the inevitable slaughter of thousands of people. But if you could only vaguely recall the details of how deep the hypocrisy goes, then read on.
The US not only helped arm Iraq with military equipment right up to the time of the Kuwait invasion in 1989, as did Germany, Britain, France, Russia and others, but also sold and helped Iraq to integrate chemical weapons into their US-provided battle plans while fighting Iran between 1985-1988.
According to a New York Times article in August, 2002, Col. Walter P. Lang, a senior defense intelligence officer at the time, explained that D.I.A. and C.I.A. officials "were desperate to make sure that Iraq did not lose" to Iran. "The use of gas on the battlefield by the Iraqis was not a matter of deep strategic concern," he said. One veteran said, that the Pentagon "wasn't so horrified by Iraq's use of gas." "It was just another way of killing people _ whether with a bullet or phosgene, it didn't make any difference."
Now consider just how deceptive the recent comments from the White House are. In late September spokesman Ari Fleischer said that British Prime Minister Blair's dossier of evidence is "frightening in terms of Iraq's intentions and abilities to acquire weapons." A few days later, while making his case against Saddam, President Bush said "He's used poison gas on his own people." Bush deceives because he hides the fact that US officials, including his father, had no qualms about helping Saddam gas Iranians. What is truly frightening are the US policies toward Iraq, the cover ups of those policies, and the US officials who personally profit in the millions of dollars from those policies. To whatever degree Saddam is a tyrant, he would not be that without the US government.
The question is not whether Saddam is willing to use chemical or other weapons of mass destruction again. The question is whether the US is currently selling and helping countries use weapons of mass destruction.
Details about Iraq killing Iranians with US-supplied chemical and biological weapons significantly deepens our understanding of the current hypocrisy. It began with "Iraq-gate" -- when US policy makers, financiers, arms-suppliers and makers, made massive profits from sales to Iraq of myriad chemical, biological, conventional weapons, and the equipment to make nuclear weapons. Reporter Russ Baker noted, for example, that, "on July 3, 1991, the Financial Times reported that a Florida company run by an Iraqi national had produced cyanide -- some of which went to Iraq for use in chemical weapons -- and had shipped it via a CIA contractor." This was just the tip of a mountain of scandals.
A major break in uncovering Iraqgate began with a riveting 1990 Nightline episode which revealed that top officials of the Reagan administration, the State Department, the Pentagon, C.I.A., and D.I.A., collectively engaged in a massive cover up of the USS Vincennes' whereabouts and actions when it shot down an Iranian airliner in 1987 killing over 200 civilians. The "massive cover up" Koppel explained, was designed to hide the US secret war against Iran, in which, among other actions, US Special Operations troops and Navy SEALS sunk half of Iran's navy while giving battle plans and logistical information to Iraqi ground forces in a coordinated offensive.
In continuing the probe, as Koppel explained in June, 1990, "It is becoming increasingly clear that George Bush [Sr.], operating largely behind the scenes throughout the 1980s, initiated and supported much of the financing, intelligence, and military help that built Saddam's Iraq into the aggressive power that the United States ultimately had to destroy."
A PBS Frontline episode, "The Arming of Iraq" (1990) detailed much of the conventional and so-called "dual-use" weapons sold to Iraq. The public learned from other sources that at least since mid-1980s the US was selling chemical and biological material for weapons to Iraq and orchestrating private sales. These sales began soon after current Secretary of State, Donald Rumsfeld traveled to Baghdad in 1985 and met with Saddam Hussein as a private businessman on behalf of the Reagan administration. In the last major battle of the Iran-Iraq war, some 65,000 Iranians were killed, many by gas.
Investigators turned up new scandals, including the involvement of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL), the giant Italian bank, and many of the very same circles of arms suppliers, covert operators, and policy makers in and out of the US government and active in those roles for years. The National Security Council, CIA and other US agencies tacitly approved about $4 billion in unreported loans to Iraq through the giant Italian bank's Atlanta branch. Iraq, with the blessing and official approval of the US government, purchased computer controlled machine tools, computers, scientific instruments, special alloy steel and aluminum, chemicals, and other industrial goods for Iraq's missile, chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs.
However, the early reports on BNL's activities and the startling revelations that the US government astonishingly knew that BNL was financing billions of dollars of purchases illegally, were rather comical in view of later revelations regarding who was involved. US government officials didn't just know and approve, but some were employees at BNL directly or indirectly. It was Representative Henry Gonzalez (D-Texas) who relentlessly brought key information into the Congressional Record (despite stern warnings by the State Department to stop his personal investigation for the sake of "national security").
Gonzalas revealed, for example, that Brent Scowcroft served as Vice Chairman of Kissinger Associates until being appointed as National Security Advisor to President Bush in January 1989. As Gonzalez reported, "Until October 4,1990, Mr. Scowcroft owned stock in approximately 40 U.S. corporations, many of which were doing busies in Iraq." Scowcroft's stock included that in Halliburton Oil, also doing business in Iraq at the time, which had also been run by current Vice President Dick Cheney for a time. Recall that this year President George Bush Sr. faced suspicion of insider trading in relation to selling his stock in Halliburton. The companies that Scowcroft owned stock in, according to Gonzalez, "received more than one out of every eight U.S. export licenses for exports to Iraq. Several of the companies were also clients of Kissinger Associates while Mr. Scowcroft was Vice Chairman of that firm." Thus, Kissinger Associates helped US companies obtain US export licenses with BNL-finance so Iraq could purchase US weapons and materials for its weapons programs.
Many US business-men and officials made handsome profits. This included Henry Kissinger, the former Secretary of State under Richard Nixon, who was an employee of BNL while BNL was simultaneously a paying client of Kissinger Associates. Gonzalez reported that Mr. Alan Stoga, a Kissinger Associates executive, met in June 1989 Mr. Saddam Hussein in Baghdad. "Many Kissinger Associates clients received US export licenses for exports to Iraq. Several were also the beneficiaries of BNL loans to Iraq," said Mr. Gonzalez. Kissinger admitted that "it is possible that somebody may have advised a client on how to get a license."
Perhaps the most bizarre revelations about the involvement of former US officials concerned a Washington-based enterprise called "Global Research" which played a middleman role in selling uniforms to Iraq. It was run by, none other than Spiro Agnew (Nixon's former VP who resigned to avoid bribery and tax evasion charges), John Mitchell (Nixon's chief of staff and Watergate organizer), and Richard Nixon himself. In the mid-1980s, more than a decade after Watergate, Nixon wrote a cozy letter to former dictator and friend Nicolae Ceausescu to close the deal. Global Research, incidentally, swindled the Iraqis, who thought they were getting US-made uniforms for desert conditions. Instead they received, and discarded, the winter uniforms from Romania.
By late 1992, the sales of chemical and biological weapons were revealed. Congressional Records of Senator Riegle's investigation of the Gulf War Syndrome show that that the US government approved sales of large varieties of chemical and biological materials to Iraq. These included anthrax, components of mustard gas, botulinum toxins (which causes paralysis of the muscles involving swallowing and is often fatal), histoplasma capsulatum (which may cause pneumonia, enlargement of the liver and spleen, anemia, acute inflammatory skin disease marked by tender red nodules), and a host of other nasty chemicals materials.
To top it all off, there is the question as to whether Iraq's invasion of Kuwait was a set up. Evidence indicates that the US knew of Iraq's plans -- after all, the military and intelligence agencies of the two countries were working very closely. Newspaper reports about the infamous meeting between then-Ambassador Glaspie and Iraq officials, and a special ABC report in the series "A Line in the Sand," indicated that, although the US officials told Iraq that it disapproved, they indicated that the US would not interfere.
Bear in mind the attitude of the US policy makers not only regarding Iraq's use of gas against Iranians, but in general. Richard Armatige, then Asst. Sec. of Defense for International Security Affairs and now Deputy Secretary of State, said with a hint of pride in his voice that the US "was playing one wolf off another wolf" in pursuing our so-called national interest. This kind of cool machismo resembled the pride that Oliver North verbalized with a grin during the Iran-Contra hearings as "a right idea" with regard to using the Ayatollah's money to fund the Contras. The setting up of Iraq thus would be very consistent with the goals and the character of US foreign policy in the Middle East: to control the region's states either for US oil companies or as bargaining chips in deals with other strong countries, and to profit by selling massive quantities of weapons to states that will war with or deter those states that oppose US "interests."
The problem that Armatige refers to was the fact that by 1990, the US and allied arming of Iraq had given Iraq a decisive military edge over Iran, which upset the regional "balance." The thinking among the US hawks was Iraq's military needed to somehow be returned to its 1980 level. An invasion of Kuwait would enable the US to do that.
But initially many arms suppliers opposed the war on Iraq because they had been making huge profits from arms sales to Saddam's regime during the 1980s. Indeed, one US official interviewed expressed his disappointment with Iraq's invasion and the subsequent Gulf War because the relationship with Iraq could have continued to be "very profit...uh mutually profitable."
Bush Sr. and others expected that after the war, Saddam would capitulate to US designs on the region. With a heeled Saddam, the interests of arms suppliers, defense contractors, and the many US oil corporations could be renewed. Iraqi would have to re-arm itself and invest in oil drilling and processing facilities that were destroyed by US forces. And to pay for all that, Iraq would have to sell oil cheap, which served the interests both of the giant oil corporations and the American public who had begun buying GM SUVs en masse. It would be good for US business.
The invasion today is, above all, to renew US firm's access to Iraqi oil. As reported recently in the New York Times, former CIA director R. James Woolsey, who has been one of the leading advocates of forcing Hussein from power, argues that, "It's pretty straightforward, France and Russia have oil companies and interests in Iraq. They should be told that if they are of assistance in moving Iraq toward decent government, we'll do the best we can to ensure that the new government and American companies work closely with them. If they throw in their lot with Saddam, it will be difficult to the point of impossible to persuade the new Iraqi government to work with them."
His views are of course supported by the new Iraqi government-in-waiting. Faisal Qaragholi, the "petroleum engineer who directs the London office of the Iraqi National Congress (INC), an umbrella organization of opposition groups that is backed by the United States" says that "Our oil policies should be decided by a government in Iraq elected by the people." Ahmed Chalabi, the INC leader, put it more bluntly and sadi that he favored a U.S.-led consortium to develop Iraq's oil fields, which would replace the existing agreements that Iraq has with Russia and France. "American companies will have a big shot at Iraqi oil," Chalabi said.
Note also that Bush and company have a personal stake in unilateral action. According to Leroy Sievers and the Nightline Staff at ABC, "Dick Cheney's Halliburton Co. had interests in Iraqi oil production after the [Gulf ] war."
Thus, following the Gulf War, Cheney, Bush Sr. and others didn't expect that Saddam would refuse to abide by US interests and join the so-called "family of nations." This is really what President Bush Jr meant when he said at a cabinet meeting on Sept. 24, 2002 that he intends "to hold Saddam Hussein to account for a decade of defiance."
There is no shock about any of this, nor of the sordid assortment of officials and individuals directly or indirectly involved -- from the infamous US-based international arms dealer Sarkis Songhanalian and former Gen. Secord, to Oliver North and Richard Nixon -- and many others. They had been part of covert US arms and drug deals and Mafia dating back decades. Iraqgate was in fact also part of Irangate, and both are about a shadow government that circumvents domestic and international laws in arming regimes and terrorist organizations to enhance the profits of US businessmen and corporations.
The public learned since the mid-1980s that the shadow government folks played all sides of various wars, and made curious business alliances. Profits were good, but there were also ideological reasons. While arming Iraq and putting proceeds into their pockets, the covert operators also armed Iran. Israel of course, had also been arming Iran since the Ayatollah came into power in order to counter Iraq. The US soon joined these operations after Regan came to power.
Oliver North, Bush Sr., Robert McFarlane, and Gen. Secord, and others purchased from the CIA spare parts for US-made weapons and more than two thousand TOW missiles, which the CIA had purchased at discount rates from the Pentagon. Secord and North sold the weapons and parts to Iran in exchange for cash and the release of US hostages in Lebanon.
In public, Ronnie Reagan repeatedly condemned negotiations with terrorists in principle and even stated on national TV that there had been no negotiations with terrorists. He went back on air a few months later and said that while he still didn't believe "in his heart" that the US had negotiated with terrorists, the facts told him "otherwise." He escaped impeachment because he "couldn't remember" signing detailed instructions for sales of weapons to Iran and for the diversion of money to the Contras.
Insiders considered these trades "business as usual." Former General Secord, for instance, unashamedly told Congressional investigators during the Iran-Contra hearings that his arms-dealing firm, the "Enterprise," which sold the TOWs to other brokers and then to Iran, was a legitimate profit-making business. And as we all know, at the other end of the deal, North channeled a portion of the proceeds from those sales through Swiss banks and to the terrorist Contras in Honduras. Their job was to overthrow the Sandinista regime that overthrew the brutal 43-year Somoza family dictatorship supported by the US.
Again, in legal terms, the scandal was not only that Reagan's administration circumvented the Boland Amendment which outlawed military support to the Contras, but also that the CIA had also mined the harbors of Nicaragua. When the US was taken to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and convicted of violating international laws, President Reagan disregarded this conviction saying the ICJ had no jurisdiction over the United States.
Bush Jr. has stated the following reasons for invading Iraq, all of which are accurate except the last: (1) Iraq used chemical weapons, (2) Iraq tried to build nuclear weapons, and (3) the US tried to bring Iraq into the "family of nations" (said first by Bush Sr). He is correct that Iraq was willing to use chemical weapons and has been trying to build nuclear weapons for years. Of course, he just fails to mention that the US was willing to sell, and to help Iraq use, chemical weapons of mass destruction and that his friends profited handsomely in so doing. He also fails to note that today Hussein is not seen as an immediate threat by it's Arab neighbors, none of whom have called for his ouster, and that Iraq has only a shadow of the power it had in 1990. There is no evidence to support Bush or Blair's claims that Iraq has and is preparing to use chemical or biological weapons.
Lastly, what about Bush Jr.'s third contention, that the US had tried to bring Saddam into the "family of nations?" In view of the thousands upon thousands of women, children, and men butchered with US battle plans and arms, as well as arms from Europe, one could only characterize that family as being composed of unscrupulous, profiteering, vile accomplices to mass murder. Perhaps this is also a reason why the Bush administration opposes the formation of the World Court and needs US politicians and military personel exempt from international law.

As far as terrorists go, there never was any links between Saddam and al Qaeda:
http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/IraqCoverage/story?id=144396&page=2
Now Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld says he knows of no intelligence linking Saddam and al Qaeda.
In prepared remarks given at the Council on Foreign Relations on Monday, Rumsfeld said, "I have not seen any strong hard evidence that links the two."
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
And here's a good piece from one of your favorites, the Brookings Institute:

Iraq's Threat to U.S. Exaggerated
The Baltimore Sun, September 26, 2002
The claims of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney that Iraq might join with terrorists to strike the United States at any time are far-fetched.
Very little about the historical record or current intelligence lends credence to that view. It cannot be fully dismissed as a possibility, but it appears to be a remote one at worst.
There's much more at the link, all old news.
As far as educating you about 9/11 being an inside job, well, that would take more time and attention than you seem to have seeing how you are in the dark on geopolitics here and now. If you really have an interest in the subject matter, there are ample sites that can enlighten you, but you would have to actually look at them. Go on, follow some of the links posted. Same old propaganda, huh, Eric?...Nothing new?...Same old spins, I see...The Bible, just as the Koran has that manmade garbage inserted in it from all the many translations throughout time and many know that...Don't you?...Probably, I'd say
You fool no one...I could pick apart every point you tried to make just as any other common sensed and logical thinker could...and will, I am sure...I don't have time for the likes of you at this time, unfortunately, but you are in good hands as you'll see
I'll just let someone else attack you with truth for a while...You should let others have a say too, you know...Your stuff is getting old
And 911 truth sure is scaring the bad guys, huh?...The truthers saw this one coming...The patsy who supposedly confessed to 911 and all the many other crimes won't be as easy to take to a kangaroo court as saddam was...Too many watching, now
They won't be able to kill this one off quick enough, either, should it be pulled off at all
Should be very interesting and heads will surely roll...Let's just hope and pray it won't be the wrong ones this time...Not that saddam and his cronies weren't guilty of crimes...but after all saddam was friends and partners with the bush gang before they threw him over, right?...It's just that we know who the worst terrorists are, don't we?...It's a case of the lesser of two evils taking the fall, unfairly, when you know all the facts...And we're spose to be the good guys?...Yeah...lol...Right!

Still no answers I see. And Marsha's right, Bible, Koran, both manmade with vile passages in both. But I haven't heard of a Jew or Christian killing someone for wearing garments of two threads. However, I have heard of women being killed for "allowing" themselves to be gang raped. If we want to go down the path of scrutinizing dogmas, where is NOW in all this? Eric, you have very little comprehension skills I believe. The article that has your panties in a bunch didn't beat up on Clinton enough? Awww waahhh! He's no better than the Bush crime family, and in fact he's part of that very crime family moving us toward that ever looming NWO. Eric, I'd just bet that you believe the story about 72 virgins, and I would challenge you to produce that written in any Islamic text--it doesn't exist. You proudly display your abject ignorance of islam as if it were a badge of honor. Guess again, Eric, for you dishonor every American of conscience with every word you write. You didn't really read the article, admit it! Otherwise, how could you attribute such noble intentions to the cabal? "We trusted what they told us...blah blah blah" BULLSHIT, Eric. Eric, we were making money hand over fist selling them all the weapons they could ever need or dream of. Talk about pick and choose intelligence--hey, you DO work for the government, don't you? Your not as good as many others, though, at misrepresenting facts. Eric, you really should get a clue, and I don't know how you will ever get one if you don't want to look for it, lol.
I have many Muslim friends and they are a peaceful loving bunch who want the same things in life that I want. Its only people like you, Eric, who have been programmed to think that war is peace, wisdom is ignorance, and love is hate, Eric, people like you who demand war and death for anyone you fear from your own ignorance of them. It is your type of fanaticism (religious or otherwise) Eric, that has our soldiers fighting and dying in Iraq, killing Iraqis by the hundreds of thousands, Eric, all the while screaming "THEY ARE FANATICS!!!" In the meantime, well connected corporations rake in the dough. The criminality crosses all party lines, so I won't bite on your party wedge issue, you can dig that one out of your own crack, Eric, but thanks for the offer.
You offer a poor defense for not looking at the information, and I even tailored some of it for you, Eric, complete with right wing sites. Sadly, your type is a complete waste of time, as your programming is complete, Eric, and you've shown yourself for what you are, Eric, a cheap, paranoid immitation of a mediocre disinfo agent.
You present no real information, only the whiney mantra of the typical neocon, Eric. "We've got to kill them before they kill us!" Paranoia, Eric, is treatable today. Get help before its too late!

wtc7 collapsed
for the third time in history
fire brought down a steel building
reducing it to rubble
hold on folks
here we go
• The fires in WTC 7 were not evenly distributed, so a perfect collapse was impossible.
• Silverstein said to the fire department commander “the smartest thing to do is pull it.”
• Firefighters withdrawing from the area stated the building was going to “blow up”.
• The roof of WTC 7 visibly crumbled and the building collapsed perfectly into its footprint.
• Molten steel and partially evaporated steel members were found in the debris.
[WTC 7] contained offices of the FBI, Department of Defense, IRS (which contained prodigious amounts of corporate tax fraud, including Enron’s), US Secret Service, Securities & Exchange Commission (with more stock fraud records), and Citibank’s Salomon Smith Barney, the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management and many other financial institutions. [Online Journal]
The SEC has not quantified the number of active cases in which substantial files were destroyed [by the collapse of WTC 7]. Reuters news service and the Los Angeles Times published reports estimating them at 3,000 to 4,000. They include the agency’s major inquiry into the manner in which investment banks divvied up hot shares of initial public offerings during the high-tech boom. …”Ongoing investigations at the New York SEC will be dramatically affected because so much of their work is paper-intensive,” said Max Berger of New York’s Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann. “This is a disaster for these cases.” [New York Lawyer]
Citigroup says some information that the committee is seeking [about WorldCom] was destroyed in the Sept. 11 terror attack on the World Trade Center. Salomon had offices in 7 World Trade Center, one of the buildings that collapsed in the aftermath of the attack. The bank says that back-up tapes of corporate emails from September 1998 through December 2000 were stored at the building and destroyed in the attack. [TheStreet]
Inside [WTC 7 was] the US Secret Service’s largest field office with more than 200 employees. …”All the evidence that we stored at 7 World Trade, in all our cases, went down with the building,” according to US Secret Service Special Agent David Curran. [TechTV]

If you joined the military thinking you were doing something good for the country, I am sorry for you, as you have been deceived. No, I have not been to Iraq, I would not be caught dead in Iraq, and if I had been in the military at the time and they attempted to send me there I would have done whatever it took, including going to jail, to avoid going. All that is necessary for an end to war is for the troops to refuse to fight. Once you were there, didn't you realize you were being used to slaughter innocent civilians? What is the principle, shoot (or bomb) first and ask questions later? Iraq was never any threat to us, it was all lies.Just some of the evidence that 9/11 was an inside job (there is a mountain of it...) would be 3 steel framed skyscrapers collapsing at free-fall speed into their footprints, and one of them was not hit by a plane, pResident Bush sitting in that classroom in Florida reading about a pet goat and not being immediately removed, as he should have been, and the lack of any meaningful response from the military. Also, how quickly the alleged hijackers were named (at least 7 of them then turned up alive after 9/11...), no arab names on any of the passenger or autopsy lists, and the lack of any meaningful investigation by our government of the worst crime in the history of the country. Also, how about record numbers of put options on the airlines involved in the week before the event, people (mayor Willie Brown of SF, for instance) being warned not to fly on that day, cell phones don't working on airplanes so the supposed calls were faked, Jeb Bush declaring martial law in Florida on Sept 7. How much evidence do you require to start to see the picture?
As far as the war goes, I will quote David Icke from a book I am reading:
"For goodness sake, get out of the forces before you are the next victim of these insane criminals. You are not liberating anyone, you are helping to complete the global fascist state that you and your children will have to live in."
"Those in uniform, "our troops", who kill people to order - "three Iraqi's to go, please, heavy on the ammo" - are not "heroes", they are paid assassins guilty of mass murder. And it's about time someone said it."

What would happen if no one volunteered to serve the country? If it wasnt for people defending this country there would not be an America. Let me tell you something, you are a great American right......no your not. You said even if you were in the military and they tried to send you to Iraq you would do everything in your power to get out of it to including going to jail. well i am glad your not in the military because you are a disgrace to this country. What if everyone in WWII thought like you did, we all would be speaking German now. It makes me extremely angry to hear crap like that, through out our nations history men and women have given there lives defending this wonderful land so hippies and tree huggers like yourself could cry and moan about something. You said 7 of the highjackers were found to be alive after 911, google your name and find out how many people have the same name as you. Not eevryone in the world has a unique name, believe it or not there is more than one John Smith. Everything you said was "evidence" meant nothing, there is nothing there that is concrete evidence that says that 911 was an inside job. Its all garbage, just like the 95% of the people who has posted on here to include yourself. So what if a building falls in its footprints, does that automaticly make it a conspiracy? According to the laws of physics a bumble bee is not meant to fly, does it happen, yes. Is it a conspiracy from the government, no it just happens. Judging by the quote David Icke is a coward and is ignorant to what is going on. Tell me who is an innocent civilian, how about the guy who just gave you a haircut and is not planting a bomb outside your base, is he innocent? Soldiers are not murdering innocent civilians over there, they are killing and capturing the terrorist, OUR ENEMY!But you probably already know, gabe

You better hope you don't get shipped off to a zone that's not so green if you are for real, huh?...You trust the enemy trying to take over America that much to think you're going to remain safe?
If you really are what you say in a soldier, you should be very afraid...But it seems you may be just a tool to deceive and spread propaganda
The supposed hijackers names were released immediatly along with their pictures and the same were found alive...The case is closed on that one...They messed that one up,"big time",too

Bush Family and World War II Financing
EFP — 07:20 PM Mar 19, 2007
Abundant, confirmed and perfectly reliable evidence easily available on the Web demonstrates and proves that Bush family and US bankers financed Hitler and pushed him to launch WWII. Without Bush family fanancial backing there would never ever have been a World War II. Hitler at his start did not even have the means to have body guards, let alone an army. So, please stop bullshitting us about Hitler's intentions to take over the world. Those who fabricated Saddam Hossein were the children of those who fabricatde Hitler. Those inside the government of the USA who masterminded and staged 9/11 were the children of those who fabricated Peal Harbor. We know much much better than what is on TV screens; and we know how to be informed and educated. Let us ignore paid agents with their stupid propaganda.Thank you MARSHA and JoAnn and Cindy. So when you bring your redneck hero's ass home and buy a harley so you can proudly display our once fine flag and show off all of your pretty ribbons remember this little peice of history.
They lied to me then and they are lying to you now. Just being in Iraq gives you no credibility with me as I was also in a war.
You are still a brainwashed fool!

It's quite evident truth has beat out deception here at Cindy's blog concerning the illegal occupation as it shoud be....There's been quite an education for those silent and looking in, huh? Now, how about some 911 truth?
After all, "the lies of 911 are what led to the unjust war"
The lies of 911 and the war go hand in hand...Anyone in the antiwar movement thinking it wrong to hook up with the 911 truth movement for whatever their reasons are dead wrong
All connects to everything..."United We Can Stand" but divided we will certainly fall
Those guilty behind the 911 atrocity must be held accountable and they are the same responsible for the illegal occupation as well as all else bringing America down and selling her out
Many know 911 was a LIHOP or MIHOP, now...Let it happen on purpose or made it happen on purpose...We must get to the bottom of the 911 atrocity
I have a dream and that's to see the wonderful 911 and antiwar activists stand together...Stand together to create great numbers and that loud voice that will not be ignored...One that will shake the very foundations of those leading America astray

THE BELOVED CYNTHIA McKINNEY
A White Ex Cop Speaks Out About a Georgia Congresswoman
by
Michael C. Ruppert
April 11, 2006 1000 PST (FTW) - ASHLAND -Cynthia McKinney is a friend of mine. Until the day I die she will be a friend of mine. More than that, she will be a role model and an inspiration that I don't ever expect to be equaled, let alone surpassed. Full disclosure.
Out of several dozen Op-Eds, news reports and commentaries on the now-infamous so-called cop-slapping event of March 29th, I haven't seen a single one that, from my perspective, got it right. So right up front, let me say that if I am forced to look at this one snapshot incident, divorced from context and history, then yes, my very good friend messed up. It shouldn't have become as big a deal as it has and she bears some responsibility for that. But if I look at the event as part of a continuum of the life of congress, or the life of this nation, and (no less importantly) of the life of this woman, things look and feel a whole lot different.
The virulent, spit-dripping, white, racist commentators from Boortz to DeLay and the oh-so-PC and dainty black Democratic pundits, columnists and pols who pick Cynthia McKinney apart ”pretending to defend her while putting her black butt on the E-Bay auction block for November ”are actually allies. They both want her to go away. They both want the issues that have come too close to public recognition in this case to go away. Leaders from left and right, black or white, cannot bear the thought of actually looking deeper at what happened with Cynthia McKinney and what it means.
Let me give you an historical hint. As a rule, wars are generally started over big events, (e.g. the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand, Pearl Harbor, North Korea's Army Crossing the 38th parallel). Revolutions are generally started over less memorable things (e.g. Let them eat cake, a tea tax, some government troops opening fire on unarmed demonstrators). People of all colors and political persuasions understand that underlying both wars and revolutions are monstrous icebergs of unresolved inequity. So it is with Cynthia McKinney. And it is her hairdo (new or old, take your pick) that now sits atop an iceberg that both right-wing whites and bought-off blacks would like to go away.
I have walked the halls of Congress with Cynthia McKinney maybe eight to ten times. I have walked into and out of the Cannon and Longworth house office buildings with her. I have walked to hearings in the Rayburn house office building with her. I have walked the underground tunnels from one of those office buildings directly to the edge of the House floor and its anteroom with her. I can tell you one thing for certain because I have seen it and I have felt it. Cynthia McKinney and her staff get treated differently from just about anyone else on the Hill. It's subtle, but so is the taste of dirt when it's in your mouth.
ICEBERGS
Between 1974 and 1977, as I prowled the streets of The Jungle in South Central L.A. (in uniform and later as a detective and undercover narc) I knew little about being human. The Jungle is the place where Boyz in the Hood and Denzel Washington's Training Day were filmed. I was a good cop, a very good cop. I didn't have any sustained personnel complaints. My rating reports were always outstanding.
The law-abiding citizens by and large trusted me when they saw me. My liberal education at UCLA had at least partially sensitized me to a world that seemed impossible to understand a world that scared me just as much as it enticed me with its opportunities for heroism, peer recognition, and self-acceptance. My father had been a war hero and I wanted to know if I was cut from the same cloth.
I was known for being aggressive; eager to embrace danger; a budding, brilliant investigator; and an unmatched report writer. I was a hard-charger as they called it in those days. Perhaps the best role model I had as a cop was a black LAPD Captain by the name of Jesse A. Brewer who also taught me about leadership, friendship and loyalty.
I didn't need to beat up innocent people because the streets where I worked were full of guilty people: robbers, burglars, heroin dealers, wife beaters, rapists, and car thieves. I was on the streets (and not far away) the night the Symbionese Liberation Army were roasted like marshmallows after making the mistake of trying to shoot it out with my brothers in blue. We were all men in those days, no women. I was on the streets for months before and after the time when every LA cop had a fear of making a routine traffic stop and facing an automatic weapon, a rocket launcher, a bomb, or a Molotov cocktail. Tense times.
For several years I averaged between 20 and 30 felony arrests per month ”good arrests. Who had time to go after innocent people just because they were black? Also in those days, I also used the word nigger about 15 times a day. It was the culture. It was my ignorance. In the 1970s, LAPD reports used the official word Negro to describe African-Americans and before I joined LAPD in 1973 I had seen or talked to only around 20 black people in my whole life: maids, taxi drivers, bellmen ”you know colored people. I talked like those around me talked. I thought it was cool.
As front-page stories in the Herald Examiner described me in 1981, I was a white kid from Orange County in a blue uniform sent to a black ghetto.
The one thing I could not understand for about fifteen years after that was the maybe half-dozen different black men who had approached me in futility and rage, tearing open their shirts and looking at me with absolute sincerity as they said, Shoot me. Go ahead, shoot me. I got nothing to lose.
They meant it, and it mattered not at all what the last incident was that had taken place before they snapped with that sublime mix of rage and complete despair. A lifetime of inequalities, social and economic; injustices, past and present; and frustrations, ever present; had pushed those men beyond their breaking point. It took me a while to get to that point, but I got there too, and now I understood something about being black.
Through two decades of 12-Step work, intense spiritual effort and personal therapy I have seen my errors, felt genuine remorse, and made my amends. One of those amends came in 1996 when ”in a face-to-face confrontation with a CIA director ”I challenged the same government I had once protected for smuggling hundreds of tons of cocaine into the United States, where much of it was intentionally routed to the inner cities.
Since then, and on more than one occasion, Black America, and black individuals in America have saved my life. No one rushed to take a bullet for me. No, what was done for me was to give me acceptance, support, friendship, a meal and some soul. You can do a lot with a little bit of soul.
Among all of the African Americans I know ”and there are many ”Cynthia McKinney stands head and shoulders above the rest. Screw her hairdo; It's the woman's mind and heart that need to be considered here.
Flash forward a couple of decades from the late 1970s.
It's now 2000 and my little newsletter From The Wilderness is steadily growing as we look at issues like US Government covert operations in Colombia, death squads, the global drug trade, the prison-industrial complex, drug money flowing into Al Gore's presidential campaign, PROMIS software and a then little-known company named Halliburton. My friend Al Giordano of the Narco News Bulletin brought Cynthia McKinney to my attention. I emailed her and she responded almost immediately.
There was an immediate friendship. Cynthia McKinney was the first member of congress I had met (about 15 at the time) who actually seemed to be a human being who actually gave a hoot and who actually comprehended all the government criminality people were talking about. She responded to emails. She took phone calls. She actually cut checks from the Treasury to subscribe to FTW. She bought our videos and reports and she read them. She handed them out.
She asked questions and didn't pretend to know everything. She read. She listened. She understood.
And then came 9/11.
There are millions of Americans who still have major unanswered questions about the attacks of September 11th. Some are wives, husbands, and children of the victims. Some, like me, are investigative journalists. Many are just average people who could never swallow the galactic inconsistencies of the government account and who have refused to succumb to pressure for conformity. Cynthia McKinney was the one to ask What did the Bush administration know and when did it know it? about the scores of detailed warnings received by the administration in the months before the attacks. Contrary to one account from a black commentator recently, she has never retracted that question.
For that question, she was tarred and feathered in the press. From her long-standing support of Palestinian rights and objections to Israeli strong-arm tactics in the occupied territories emerged a new double-edged motive to remove her from congress at all costs. Cynthia McKinney was an un-American, anti-Semitic supporter of terrorists!
An Oreo black candidate named Denise Majette emerged as lots of money poured from the coffers of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) funded not only a hate campaign against McKinney, but in support of her opponent as well. Illegally, thousands of Republican voters crossed over to vote for the Oreo in the primary while the seat stayed safely Democratic, and all were quietly relieved when Cynthia didn't even make it to the general election.
Cynthia McKinney will tell you that I and the entire 9/11 movement stayed with her loyally throughout her two-year imposed vacation. And I believe she will tell you that it was in part because we organized fundraisers for her and kept her name out there that she made it back ”to everyone's surprise except ours ”in 2004.
Cynthia McKinney had been the only member of congress to ask real questions about 9/11. And she didn't stop or forget when she got back either. More than that, she continued to do ”no matter what ”the things that her conscience bade her to do as an African-American woman who is anything but a racist (unless you want to refer to the human race). In hearings she questioned Donald Rumsfeld about the multitude of wargame exercises I had identified in my book Crossing the Rubicon.
She asked repeated questions about 9/11 in repeated hearings and no one on the Democratic side backed her up when her questions were brushed aside, ignored and forgotten. She also kept up her support for the rights of the oppressed everywhere and she didn't change one single note of her sheet music or its cadence.
She held the only hearing on Capitol Hill where investigators, authors, and families questioning the official version of 9/11 had a voice. She invited me, Wayne Madsen and Ray McGovern to act as questioners at that hearing, and she was the only member of congress to sit through that hearing.
She was there for the victims of Katrina and Rita who fled as refugees to Atlanta last fall. She was there to protect black culture and black history through her Tupac bill. She was there for her constituents and for all of the disenfranchised, battered, demoralized, and desperate Americans of all colors who had come to see her as “the politician of last resort.
PLATE TECTONICS
Almost every armchair pundit (left or right) who has criticized Cynthia McKinney has told only part of her story.
When she was returned to congress, her party, overlooking well-documented procedure with a number of historical precedents, refused to give her back the seniority to which she was entitled. In terms of committee assignments, instead of being a six-term senior member of her committees, she was a freshman. This placed her last on the list of questioners, last in terms of pecking order, last in terms of recognition, and last in terms of agenda setting. She was denied her old spot on the House Foreign Relations committee. She was moved further and further away from the coveted and influential title of “ranking member that she should have been approaching. Should the House revert back to Democratic control this year she might have even chaired a committee. God forbid!
They did throw the Negro woman McKinney a bone in the form of a nicer office than before (the only place where her true seniority was recognized). “Here bitch, drive this Cadillac and shut up!
While House Democratic leadership under Nancy Pelosi of California has been brutal to Cynthia McKinney, the treatment afforded her by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has been equally despicable. Not only did the CBC not fight for McKinney’s legitimate seniority, it also seems that they have taken pleasure in snubbing her. Solidarity my ass.
One anecdote paints the picture pretty clearly.
Last fall, after I had acted as a questioner for two panels sponsored by McKinney at the CBCs annual convention, I was surprised as she handed me a ticket to the CBC formal banquet. This is a big annual event and I sat just a few tables away from John Kerry. Howard Dean was a few tables past Kerry. More than a thousand people, dressed to the nines, filled a crowded ballroom.
Cynthia was a no-show and it didn't take long to figure out why. As every black member of Congress was introduced by seniority, starting with the Honorable John Conyers of Michigan, Cynthia McKinney's name was saved for last. Even the Congressional Black Caucus could not recognize a sister's seniority and service, not even when it wouldn't have cost them a thing.
Where was Cynthia during that dinner? She wasn't there. She was off violating a direct order from Nancy Pelosi not to attend a massive anti-war rally on the Mall. She was standing with Cindy Sheehan. She was giving a speech denouncing the war in Iraq and the Bush administration. She was doing her job. I sat at McKinney's table next to my ad hoc dinner partner Kathleen Cleaver, weeping over the insult on McKinney. Not once since have I seen Cynthia McKinney even flinch over it.
I have watched Cynthia McKinney quietly and gracefully endure monstrous insults, sleights and provocations that I could never keep silent over. I have watched the world wait for a misplaced burp or worse from her and I have watched her refuse to take the bait on at least fifty occasions.
Are revolutions started because those in revolt rise to offered bait? I think not.
In the case of Cynthia McKinney and the Capitol Hill Police officer, I, like the rest of those reading this story, have not seen what happened. There may be a tape that will surface at some point as we wait to see whether a grand jury will indict her on idiotic charges of assault. I don't know whether the Capitol Hill Cop was white or black, young or old, a rookie or a veteran. I wish it all hadn't happened and I'd bet Cynthia feels the same way.
But then again
THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT OF MY LIFE
In the spring of 2004 as I was arranging a speech and fundraiser for Cynthia McKinney in Los Angeles wherein we visited a small local museum of the civil rights movement. It was only about two miles from where I had once worked. Pictures of Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy triggered painful memories for me. As I stood transfixed looking at a picture taken circa 1965 of an LAPD black and white with two helmeted officers wielding batons high above their heads in a street fight with blacks, Cynthia McKinney walked up and stood beside me. Quietly, so that only I could hear she said, That's what you used to do when you used to be white. Human being.
John Kennedy and even Dwight Eisenhower were forgiven for having affairs. Bill Clinton was forgiven for a dozen crimes. Ronald Reagan was forgiven for everything. Who will dare call it justice when and if Cynthia McKinney is not forgiven and approved of for being real?
There is an easy way for most people to avoid reaching their limits and the risk of being embarrassed. The first rule is: don't do anything risky. Don't stretch the envelope.
With 2,400 American KIA in Iraq, with the US economy ever-shrinking for the poor and middle classes, with US government corruption reeking like a rotting Elephant in the African sun, with voting rights being violated in a gentrifying and whitening New Orleans, with the crimes of 9/11 not only unsolved but covered up by both Democrats and Republicans, there would seem to be many reasons why the envelope needs to be ripped apart a bit.
I have little hope for it now. All the just get along folks seem to be winning the day and my friend Cynthia McKinney has some big choices ahead for her. I and many others will be doing all we can from around the country to get her re-elected again this year if that's what she asks.
But let me say this clearly: If Cynthia McKinney wants to start a revolution over a cop who touched her, or anything else, I'll welcome it and I know damn well which side I'll be on.
***SOS***911 truth tellers need help & get banned unfairly @ Raising Kaine
Marsha — 10:48 PM Mar 21, 2007
Please help replace those who are being banned & silenced at this blog by going to the link below & taking a moment to registerIt's really important because many are silently watching and will learn what's up if truth can get through
Your help really is needed so please answer this plea and don't leave it to others...That kind of inaction is what's been getting "US" no where, fast...
Many are watching and do read the posts before the guy controlling the content can get to them all
The Calvary is needed to arrive to keep 911 truth rolling on this one...
You may get banned if you make sense by a guy named Lowell but you'll still be able to read...And you may get away with reregistering and slip by him until he gets to know your IP address as another patriot told us
He removes most but not all posts on the side of 911 truth but he may ban the person...That's so unfair and when truth starts reigning he gets busy
He calls 911 truth people conspiracy nuts and whackos...He says they demean the antiwar movement
IMO, it's a wonder he's even on the side of peace with the way he stifles what others want to say who disagree with him...
If we're to win this war against corruption and secure our nation so we can save the world, we must work to unite 911 truth with the antiwar movement...The illegal war "IS" because of the lies of 911 and go, together, hand in hand
Here's what another who was banned wrote on the matter>>>
Re: if you go back and review of all the articles posted on the "Raising Kaine"
You were banned Marsha and your big post was removed. The little one
about to ban or not to ban is still there. There are other posts
missing too. Lowell is pulling a Lowell. Since he likes what he
posted about the 911 crazies and about how great israel is he won't
remove the entry, but he will remove individual posts. So if anyone
else posts, keep it small and to the point. Make them think. But some important pro truth posts are now gone. So much for progressive Virginia.
Some are adopting this phrase>>>

Poison DUst tells the story of young soldiers: Depleted Uranium
Marsha — 04:31 PM Mar 25, 2007
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17249.htmor
http://tinyurl.com/yqv54l
Poison DUst tells the story of young soldiers who thought they came home safely from the war, but didn't. Of a veteran's young daughter whose birth defect is strikingly similar to birth defects suffered by many Iraqi children. Of thousands of young vets who are suffering from the symptoms of uranium poisoning, and the thousands more who are likely to find themselves with these ailments in the years to come. Of a government unwilling to admit there might be a problem here. Filmmaker Sue Harris skillfully weaves the stories of these young veterans with scientific explanations of the nature of "DU" and its dangers, including interviews with former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, New York Daily News reporter Juan Gonzalez, noted physicist Michio Kaku, Dr. Rosalie Bertell, Dr. Helen Caldicott and Major Doug Rokke- the former U.S. Army DU Project head.
Every American who cares about our troops should watch this film. Everyone who cares about the innocent civilians who live in the countries where these weapons are used should watch this film. And everyone who cares about the hatred of Americans that may result from the effects of our government's actions in using these weapons, should watch this film. Is there a cover-up?

HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS PROTEST IN IRAQ

HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS PROTEST IN IRAQMon Apr 9, 2007 2:24 am (PST)
This story says 'hundreds of thousands', but it also says the Iraqi dead are
'tens of thousands'. we know that better than 650,000 have died there, so
I'd say the protesters number upwards of a million Iraqis.
And Bush wants 'more time'? For what, for these people to get tired of their
outrage and anger? For them to tire of protesting and fighting back?
Remember one thing, these people did nothing to deserve what we have done to
them. We blamed it all on Saddam, his sons and his henchmen...and that was
all a lie. It is THESE PEOPLE who are paying for their country's bad fortune
of having huge oil reserves at the time we have a huge hunger.
This is going to be a bloodbath for them AND for us.
All thanks to the man who Decided he wanted a war and lied to get it.
**
Oh and what did Cheney tell us in one of his lies? 3 to 6 months, a few
billion, all paid back from Iraqi oil money, and we would be received as
liberators and given flowers and candy?
Why are these liars still walking free?
*Huge Anti-US Rally Marks Iraq Milestone*
April 09, 2007
HUNDREDS of thousands of Shiites burned and trampled on US flags as they
gathered in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf for an anti-American rally called
by firebrand cleric Moqtada al-Sadr on the fourth anniversary of the fall of
Saddam Hussein.
Large crowds of men, women and children holding Iraqi flags and anti-US
banners massed in Najaf and the nearby twin city of Kufa to protest against
what they said was an American occupation of Iraq.
The rally is seen as a show of strength for the cleric who has not been seen
for more than two months, since the launch of a security crackdown in
Baghdad aimed largely at reining in his militiamen accused of killing Sunni
Arabs.
The US military has said he is in Iran but his aides deny the claims.
In the capital Baghdad, where four years ago on Monday a giant bronze statue
of Saddam was torn down, dramatically symbolising the fall of his regime,
security was tight.
A 24-hour vehicle curfew was in place and all Baghdad's key roads and
bridges were deserted as people remained indoor for fear of attacks.
Jubilant Baghdadis who welcomed the invading US troops on April 9, 2003, now
blame the rampant bloodshed and chaos on what even some of the country's
most senior leaders brand an unwanted US-led "occupation" .
The Shiite demonstrators are marching from Kufa to Najaf's central Sadrain
Square where top aides of Sadr - who is regarded by the Americans as the
most dangerous threat to stability in Iraq -are expected to address the
crowds.
Hundreds of banners saying "Down with Bush, Down with America" could be seen
in the crowd as Iraqi police and army soldiers guarded key checkpoints in
and around Najaf and Kufa.
Many in the crowds were seen burning US flags and some were trampling on and
striking US and Israeli flags painted on the ground with their shoes, an act
considered one of the worst insults in Arab culture.
Some Sunni religious groups were also seen participating in the rally.
It was not known whether Sadr himself would address the crowds.
The cleric, who launched two bloody rebellions against US forces in 2004, is
known for his anti-US stance and has emerged as a powerful force in the
present Shiite-led Iraqi government.
His political bloc has 32 lawmakers in the 275-member parliament and six
cabinet ministers in Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's embattled government.
On Sunday, he reiterated his call to unite against the Americans and end
fighting between his militiamen and security forces in the central city of
Diwaniyah.
"He appeals to the Iraqi army and the Mahdi militia not to fall into
America's trap by fighting in Diwaniyah,'' said a statement stamped and
issued by the cleric's Najaf office on his behalf.
US and Iraqi soldiers have been clashing with his militiamen in Diwaniyah
since Friday.
Calling for unity against US troops, Sadr urged local forces not to support
the "occupier because it is your enemy."
"Iraq has had enough bloodshed. The occupation forces led by the biggest
evil, America, is working to sow dissent either directly or through its
agents."
On April 9, 2003, US Marines pulled down the giant statue of Saddam by a
rope around the neck, in a premonition of his hanging in December for crimes
against humanity.
About 80,000 US and Iraqi troops are now patrolling the capital's streets
where although the daily execution-style killings are reported to be
falling, high-profile car bombings remain a headache for security forces.
Since the invasion of March 20, 2003, tens of thousands of Iraqis have died
in insurgent attacks and sectarian violence.
The four years have also been brutal for the US forces in Iraq.
On Monday, the military reported the deaths of six more soldiers in a series
of attacks, taking its toll for the month alone to 27 and 3275 since the
invasion, according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
