United in Support for the NC Racial Justice Act?

On June 14, 2009, Nazareth First Baptist Church in Asheville hosted “Let Justice Roll! The Church Speaks out for Racial Justice”.

Rep. Susan Fisher announced to the crowd that the entire Buncombe County legislative delegation supports the Racial Justice Act (S461)

At a press conference in Asheville on Thursday, July 9, Mayor Terry Bellamy (pictured below) announced her strong support for the Racial Justice Act and said she was proud that her community's entire state legislative delegation supports the Bill.

The Racial Justice Act will come to a vote on the floor of the House this Tuesday, July 14, 2009.  Because the Bill has gained so much publicity, the vote will undoubtedly be extremely close.

There is some concern that Representative Bruce Goforth has begun to falter in his support for the Bill.

Please take a moment to write to Representative Goforth this weekend.to ask him to strongly support the Racial Justice Act (S461).
