Nearing the end of the road for the Racial Justice Act...

North Carolinian advocates for the Racial Justice Act have called, emailed, faxed, and visited their legislators in record numbers.

Media outlets across the state have run countless articles and editorials supporting RJA.

Events, press conferences, and rallies have occurred in the eastern, western, and central part of the state.

The message is clear: North Carolinians OVERWHELMINGLY support the Racial Justice Act.

Your efforts are making the difference, we've come this far!

But some of our Senators are still wavering as to whether or not they plan to vote for this bill.

The end of the legislative session is swiftly approaching so, once again, the Senate could allow RJA to die without voting.

Please take one last moment to remind these Senators of how important the Racial Justice Act is to North Carolina.

We encourage you to take a moment to personalize your letter and subject for added impact.

Dear Senator,

We will add your signature from the information you provide.

The NC Racial Justice Act is a fair sentencing reform that seeks to address racial disparities in capital sentencing.

The bill would allow defendants to present statistical evidence to determine if race played a significant role in a his/her death sentence or trial.

If a defendant is successful under RJA,  his/her sentence of death would be replaced with a sentence of Life in Prison Without Parole.
