This past week in Congress:
Senator Dodd voted for:
$50 Billion to continue the war in Iraq and Afghanistan
$200 Million to hunt for Osama bin Laden
Senators Lieberman and Dodd voted AGAINST a Democrat-sponsored amendment
barring sale and use of Cluster Bombs.
Cluster Bombs leave behind miniature landmines that maim and kill children
and adults who pick them up.
"More than 400 areas targeted in Israeli attacks (on Lebanon) are now contaminated
with as many as 100,000 unexploded bomblets. Israeli forces carried out 90 per cent
of their cluster bombs strikes In the last 72 hours of the 34-day conflict -
when a ceasefire was in sight – according to a senior UN official."

The US war in Iraq has prompted millions across the world to take to the streets to
demand an immediate withdrawal of US troops. With increasing frequency and brazenness
the troops themselves have refused missions, have gone AWOL, have refused redeployment
and have publicly questioned government decisions to increase troop numbers in Iraq
Far from unprecedented, such troop resistance escalated during the Vietnam War to a level
that forced the pentagon brass to classify ground troops as a liability.
Join us in viewing the earth shaking story of this movement on film.
The feature will be introduced by Mike Alewitz, a veteran of the anti-war movement,
and followed by a discussion of its connections to the present Anti-War struggle.

National Queer Coming Out Day
Wednesday, Oct. 11
This year's theme:
"Talk About It."
The theme is to encourage gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans,
as well as straight allies, to talk openly and honestly about their lives
and the issues that TBLG Americans face under law.
When you ‘Talk About It’ with the people in your life, you begin to change minds one at a time,
and that’s the most lasting kind of change.

4th International Week Against The Apartheid Wall
Nov. 9-16
We Shall Stay
Generation after Generation
Defiant and Steadfast until Liberation”
As the ghetto walls close around our people, the voice of the Palestinian and Arab
resistance continues to echo within the Bantustans and beyond.
Like every year since bulldozers started to level our land for the Wall’s path,
the Week against the Apartheid Wall (November 9-16) will unite Palestinian communities
struggling against the land grab and expulsion in mass protests.
Under the rubble of our homes, on the fields still bearing fruit behind the wall,
within the besieged villages and the ailing city of Jerusalem, Palestinian existence
has been transformed into an act of daily resistance.
5 years after the Occupation started its destruction of our lands for the Wall,
2 years after the International Court of Justice called for the dismantling if the Wall,
We will stand steadfast against the Apartheid Wall, an enormous monument to Zionist racism,
a colonial edifice that encages Palestinians and a desperate attempt to drive us from our lands.
We call on you to stand with the Palestinian people and join the Global Week of Action:
People in dozens of countries all over the globe will unite for the fourth time to:
-- Show solidarity with the Palestinian struggle against the Apartheid Wall
-- Expose Israeli colonialism, apartheid and occupation
-- End global support for Israeli Apartheid
Strengthen the Movement to Isolate Apartheid Israel and organize action in response to the
Palestinian call for boycott, divestment and sanctions!
Until the Palestinian people gain their land, freedom, equality and self-determination!
Until the Wall Falls! Until our refugees return to their homes!
