A DAY OF ACTIVISM FOR JUSTICE & PEACE

Protest Bush in New London, May 23rd, 9 AM

Join A.N.S.W.E.R CT in demanding: US Out of Iraq Now!

The Bush administration has done everything to try to prevent mass assembly and protest at the US Coast Guard Academy. Join A.N.S.W.E.R. in rallying directly in front of the USCGA grounds, to express the rising tidal wave of anti-war sentiment in the country.

If people do not go directly to the main gate by 9 am, it is possible you will not be able to join the Protest Bush Rally at the Coast Guard Academy. Roads from the north and west used to go from Connecticut College to the USCGA and several others will be shut down mid-morning.

People will begin gathering for the Protest Bush rally as early as 7 am.

SPIRITUALITY

"Too often the price exacted by society for security and respectability is that the Christian movement in its formal expression must be on the side of the strong against the weak. This is a matter of tremendous significance, for it reveals to what extent a religion that was born of a people acquainted with persecution and suffering has become the cornerstone of a civilization and of nations whose very position in modern life has too often been secured by a ruthless use of power applied to weak and defenseless people. "

Rev. Howard Thurman (1900-1981) Theologian, Civil Rights Leader

New Haven City ID To Assist Immigrants
The City ID program unanimously passed the New Haven Finance Committee on May 17 and goes before the Board of Aldermen on June 4th. Immigrant rights activists plan to bring the 200-plus people who attended the finance committee back for the final vote.

"We all deserve an opportunity," said Javier, who moved here from Mexico three years ago. "We're not hurting anyone. We're good people."
