In the People of Faith Blog:

Protect Our Constitution
"According to the Sentencing Guidelines Commission in Washington, although the law was intended to lock up the state's worst criminals, results show that blacks are given life sentences at a much higher rate than whites. The report shows that blacks make up 3 % of the state's population, but 37 % of the state's Three Strike lifers. As a result of Constitutional Conventions, affirmative action has been eliminated in three states & repeal campaigns have been launched in five others. Blacks & Latinos who support FIC's agenda should keep in mind that whites comprise about 80% of Connecticut's total population."
-- David Samuels, Clean Slate Committee

Stand Against Hate Crimes
"As a person whose faith is centered on love and acceptance and who stands in opposition to violence and oppression, I know that I must step up and speak out because so many religious groups teach condemnation. Many attackers of gay, lesbian and transgender people claim God and their religion as a rationale for their attacks. Such persecution and attacks must stop. For this, we are all responsible."
-- Rev. Terry Davis, Hartford Courant Op-Ed

CT Supreme Court Says Gay Marriage Ban Unconstitutional
"This victory for human dignity is a victory for all people who are discriminated against based on their sex, race, ethnicity, ability, gender expression or any other immutable God-given aspect of their being. Today, one of the most marginalized and dehumanized groups in society is taking its rightful place at the marriage table. This ruling has been centuries in the making and many months in anticipation."
-- Frank O'Gorman, New Haven Register Article
