| Action Alert: Public Hearing on Catholic Laity Overseeing Parishes, March 11, Noon, Room 2C |
|
Raised Bill 1098 in the CT Legislature would require Catholic Parishes to be governed by a lay board of directors who would oversee all financial matters.
This is an important step in the direction of empowering lay people to claim our rightful place in the governance of the church at the parish level.
Please follow the link below to call your legislators in support of this bill and to attend a Public Hearing this Wednesday at Noon at the Legislative Office Building.

| Quotable Quotes |
|
"In the absence of Jesus' physical leadership, a new power to lead emerges among the disciples. Like the disciples, we honor Jesus' absence when, as Christian communities, we do not look for a single leader to ride into town on a white horse and save us. We honor Jesus' absence when we do not "look up" to a single human leader on whom we can depend for everything. We honor Jesus' absence when we discover the Spirit of Jesus the Servant animating us as a Christian community of faith."
