Jack Alderman, Ga. October 19
Do Not Execute Jack Alderman!
Jack Alderman, Ga.
October 19, 2007
The state of Georgia is set to execute Jack Alderman on October 19 for the 1974 murder of Barbara Jean Alderman.
Georgia should not execute Alderman for his role in this crime. Executing Alderman would violate the right to life as declared in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and constitute the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment. Furthermore, Alderman maintains his innocence. His co-defendant was the key witness for the prosecution. Alderman’s accomplice pleaded guilty and was released from prison after serving only 12 years however Alderman was sentenced to die. Lastly, given recent developments it would be unconscionable for the state of Georgia to proceed with any lethal injection execution before the U.S. Supreme Court has weighed in on the constitutionality of current protocols. Please write to Gov. Sonny Perdue on behalf of Jack Alderman!
