The media have largely ignored the huge public support of a public plan option as outlined in The New York Times poll last week. 72 percent of people overall supported a public plan option. A majority of those polled were willing to pay higher taxes to support such a plan. See the article here:

Also worth a look is the recent HHS report on the hidden costs of health care. Americans are paying more and more for healthcare premiums but having to increase out of pocket costs.
Read Robert Reich's advice on how to pursue health care reform posted in Salon.com. He proposes making health reform a priority, utilizing Obama's popular support and not compromising:
