Prepare to Declare: Nonviolent Direct Action Training for Phila. Area Declaration of Peace Campaign to begin on Thursday, August 17, 6:30PM -9:30PM, at Friends Center (Martin Luther King Room), 1501 Cherry St., Phila., PA. The workshop and training session on August 17 will cover the basics of nonviolent direct action for all those considering or planning to participate in the Declaration of Peace Week of Nonviolent Direct Action and Civil Disobedience. If you have signed the Declaration of Peace and live in the Phila. area, you should attend the August 17th workshop and training session.
Nonviolent Direct Action, Peacekeepers Training - Thursday, August 24, 6:30PM - 9:30PM, at the Friends Center/Martin Luther King Room, there will be a training session for direct action/demonstration peacekeepers, a necessary and vital element for successful nonviolent action. Become a Peacekeeper for Nonviolent Direct Action!
The last planned workshop and session is for those planning to face arrest by participating in nonviolent civil disobedience in Phila. during the Declaration of Peace week.
The Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Training Session will be held on Thursday, September 7, 6:30PM - 9:30PM, at Friends Center/Martin Luther King Room, 1510 Cherry St., Phila., PA. Attendance is required for those doing civil disobedience as part of the Declaration of Peace week in the Phila. area.
There is the possibility of other Declaration of Peace training sessions after September 7 if the need exits. All the sessions will be lead by long-time nonviolence trainer, Dion Lerman.
