Join Others in Telling Congress Not to Sell Off Public Lands for Private Gain

I am opposed to giving away or selling public lands for local development.

The Washington County Growth and Conservation Act (S. 3636), recently introduced by Utah's Sen. Robert Bennett and Rep. Jim Matheson, would dispose of thousands -- possibly tens of thousands -- of acres of public lands in southwestern Utah while leaving the majority of wilderness quality lands in Washington County unprotected.

Congress should not raid our public lands to pay for local development. Our public lands belong to all of us.

4526 March 20, 2007 Joyce Weinmann Las Vegas, NV This beautiful wilderness needs our protection against greedy developers who would eagerly destroy it with uncontrolled growth. Once this area is developed it will be lost forever. Please do everything possible to save it for our future generations to enjoy it as much as I do.

4515 February 08, 2007 Eric Cunningham Honolulu, HI On top of the astounding beauty of these lands, we need to think more critically about continued growth in our desert ecosystems. Opening up more land to development doesn't make any ecological sense. What kind of future are we aiming towards?
