We provide tools that enable your organization to send professional looking, targeted, personalized campaign alerts and newsletters to any subset of a list.
Our email servers are whitelisted with Yahoo! and other major ISPs, and are bonded with IronPort bonding, the industry standard for guaranteed email delivery and the new MSN/Hotmail whitelist provider. DemocracyInAction is continually evaluating message deployment and performance, is tracking daily system-wide open rates, and monitoring servers to determine the likelihood of a message being caught in spam filter.
DemocracyInAction.org also links your users to a quick and easy form which adds them to an email list accessible through your "Campaign Headquarters". We currently send emails out at a rate of over 1 million an hour.
Email Features
- List segmentation and member targeting: Organizations can segment lists by a variety of fields including, name, state, and congressional district, as well as response to previous alerts. Unlimited custom fields can easily be created for your organization's specific needs.
- Groups: Organize your supporters into up to 100 different groups for different email alerts and different interests. Manage your groups with a simple folder interface, and add supporters to multiple lists with simple one-click actions.
- Personalized messaging: Organizations can customize messages for recipients with the dynamic insertion of various types of supporter data such as name and donation amount. Email subject lines can contain personalized greeting using member information; messages can contain custom content based on the values of fields in the database. This tool also allows organizations to easily select tags that automatically pull the proper contact information (title, name, address, phone number, etc) for any state or federal representative from our legislative database.
- HTML emails: Our system allows organizations to create and launch HTML newsletters and alerts using multipart mime messages; it will display HTML to those who can view HTML, and text to those who can only see text. The system also has a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface for the easy creation of HTML emails.
- Click-through tracking: All URLs in a message are available for click-through tracking.
- Message Open Rates: For HTML messages, we can track and report on who did and did not open the email messages.
- Scheduling: Managers can prepare messages in advance and specify the time they want a specific campaign to be launched.
- Reply Manager: Easily manage replies to your email blasts using our reply manager tool. Change user information quickly, reply to a request, and add supporters to your list with a simple interface. Emails can be grouped by arbitrary content, such as Invalid User, Re: etc. in the subject or the content. There are means in the reply manager to process batches of replies, so you don't have to go through the potentially hundreds of emails individually. Groups can then be added to user-defined folders for later processing or processing by another user. A group of responses can also be used to remove supporters, remove the email address, switch email preference, or add supporters to a group.
- A quick spam note: We do not let groups send out unsolicited emails through our system. Emails may only be sent to persons who have opted in to your email list specifically. We believe strongly that email is an excellent means of communication, but not to be abused - sending email to persons who have not opted in to your list can result in the removal of your email access privileges.
